Recommended Customer Reviews

My interaction with Jason, the owner of this company, was horrible every step of the way. Initially, I called the company and requested a quote for some work in our condo, which we had to evacuate due to hurricane damage and were desperate to get back in. The receptionist was lovely and connected me with a plumber, who then sent another plumber over to our condo to give me an estimate. The plumber arrived at our condo and noted the work I was requesting. Later that night, I received a text message """"quote"""" from the owner. Right away, I thought that this was not a very professional way of sending a quote to a new customer (an email with line by line itemization is more common, more specific, more professional). I should have trusted my gut, but this plumber had been referred to me by a friend, and I was desperate. I accepted the """"quote"""" and we set up service for the following Friday. Friday morning, two plumbers arrived and I showed them the work I had requested. Additionally, I asked them if it would be possible to repair a loose valve on our hot water heater. They indicated that it would be possible to add that service on to the total job, with increased cost, of course. Meanwhile, they went into the bathroom to begin work, and I was in the kitchen. That's when Jason arrived. He entered through the back door of our condo and went directly into the bathroom yelling angrily at his two plumbers. Mind you, I have not met Jason yet face to face. I couldn't even tell who was yelling. To paraphrase, """"I don't take jobs in condos!!! I can make three times as much money taking a job up the street!! We have to wait for them to turn the water off! I don't do this! Nobody told me this was condo!! Where is she? We aren't taking this job."""" I am listening from the kitchen, horrified at the rage I am hearing in my bathroom. Jason then came out of the bathroom and introduced himself to me. He then told me they were leaving the job. At this point, I am DESPERATE and almost tearful. Since October we have been displaced from our condo and we just want to get back in it for Christmas. I BEGGED Jason not to leave. At no point did I raise my voice. In fact, the whole time, I was really choking up, feeling tears beginning to form. Ultimately, Jason told me that he would do the agreed upon work, but would charge me $1200 extra because of the increased liability of the condo (this upcharge didn't include the extra work I had requested--the water heater repair, by the way. It was just an extra charge). I felt completely trapped but agreed to the up charge out of despair. As Jason insisted he didn't know it was a condo, I pointed out that I was clear with the office when I made the initial phone call that I lived in a condo, AND his plumber had actually visited my condo to give the estimate. So, his lack of information was absolutely NOT my fault. He became hostile once again when I pointed out that his front office still accepts requests from customers who live in condos. At that point, he demanded that his plumbers leave and I was left stranded. As a result of his hot temper and his inability to apologize and make right the errors in communication from his office and his plumber, my family will not be back in the condo for Christmas. In summary, my experience with A Better Plumber was SHOCKINGLY unprofessional and left me stranded.

My friend went to the Starlight Ranch office (Community where I live owned by Home Equity Lifestyle) to have a plumber sent to his home to check an outside issue. This plumber came by and my friend decided he did not want the work done. He received a $250.00 bill from this plumber for just coming over! (other plumbers in area charge $95.00.) I called this plumber (Jason) directly and asked what it would cost for him to come down and look at a plumbing issue I had;. Jason responded """"Nothing""""!!!! After I asked why then was my friend charged $250.00, Jason became upset and stated """"Pay the bill."""" This company is a HUGE rip off... **** DO NOT USE THEM *****

From perusal experience this company and the owner Jason is a huge joke. They lie and overcharge. They fire innocent people daily. Yes. Literally DAILY. Treat their employees like animals. Make empty promises to their employees. Break things and dishonestly charge their clients. Work their employees over 40 hours and only pay them for 40. Have their employees drive ALL OVER the great state of Florida and won't pay them drive time and heaven forbid they ask for it and get their job threatened. Threaten their employees jobs DAILY. Hide the fact that some employees tested positive for COVID and didn't report it or have other employees Get tested and kept the business open. Withheld an employees property after said employee was wrongfully terminated, but accused the employee of stealing when in fact Jason was. They prey on the elderly for their business then drain dry in price gouging. Promise the employees insurance after 90 days and they never saw it. Just an all around awful company to use services or work for. I could go on for pages with examples but this is enough. You have been warned.

There when you need them in an emergency or routine plumbing repair and remodeling project. From the top down everyone cares about the project. On time and priced right. """"A Better Plumber"""" is in reality """" The BEST Plumber"""". Highly recommend.

Horrible company to hire for your needs and to work for. Owner is not professional at all. Treats employees really bad, to the point of bullying. No one should be treated and stepped over like that. Quantity over quality which is always a bad thing. I highly discourage from hiring them or working for them.

I needed some major work done and Jason, the owner, came out the next day and looked things over. He and his crew came out the very next morning (today) and got the whole job done in one shot. We discussed everything before any holes were made for access. Looks like I got a pretty good deal too.

Can't say enough about these guys, we had a major problem underneath the street and it turned out more of a problem than first thought and much deeper than anybody expected but they brought the right guys and the right Caterpillar equipment and they took care of it and cleaned up beautifully, I love their attitude of """"We want to leave your place looking like we weren't even there""""...... that's rare in the plumbing service industry. It also impressed me that the crew was in regular contact with Jason Jenkins the owner and it was great to know that he cared to keep tabs on the job right up to the end and even followed up with me to make sure I was satisfied. Great job!

I was working for this company and its a horrible place to work for,the owner Jason has anger issues and treats the employees like dogs,no professionalism at all and we all work under threats, every morning we get yelled at and he expect to get things done without having materials, plus two of his employees tested positive for covid-19. Be careful with his scams and his unprofessional work, total disaster.
