This company was sent to me by AHS. Both are a total joke! Five days later and I still don't have a hot water heater that should be covered by warranty. If you like voicemail and answering services these are the two companies for you. Good Luck Charleston if you choose to try these guys!!!!

I hate feeling ripped off by a plumbing company! The water backed up in our newly purchased home and AHS sent us these guys. (AHS is another review all on their own.) The first thing the guy tells me is what's not covered. Then has proceeds to dig up my yard without warning me to find the line. He sticks some hose in the cut out and """"pressurizes"""" the line to clear any blocks. 10 minutes and $60 bucks later, he says I'm all fixed. Two days later, the same thing happens and I call another company, who actually took the time to find the problem, (and it's not just a clog!) So, if you want crappy service and shitty workmanship, call A-American Plumbing. If not, call Roto Rooter.

Only call these yahoos if you like highway robbery. The technician was late showing up to my house and consequently did a cursory exam of the leaking water heater problem. After 2 days, I was informed that the technician thought it would take $1,600 on top of the cost of a new water heater to bring things """"up to code."""" If the technician had done a more thorough job in the first place he would have seen that many of the things he thought needed to be done were already there. All of this leads me to the conclusion that either he is incompetent or trying to charge for work that he had no intention of doing. Neither one of these conclusions are acceptable and I highly recommend searching elsewhere for your plumbing help. I know this company will NEVER set one foot on my property again.

Richard was great. Had us fixed in minutes not hours. Thank you and American Home Sheild.

I just bought this home and had back up water after 1 week staying in it. I had 1 year of Home Owner Warranty by American Home Shield, which is part of the home selling contract. Called American Home Shield and they sent this company to my house. The A American Plumbing guy came and walked to my back yard. And 5 minutes after he came, he told me that I had main line clog. He said he did not see the clean-out so it is not covered under the Home Warranty. After he made some phone calls, he gave me the bill of $75. I was shocked. He came to my house for 5 minutes of walking and billed me that much of amount, this is a joke and I refused to pay. He also said that I would need to hire him to install a clean out to fix the problem since he did not see anything on site. And of course I will have to pay him out of pocket money since AHS does not cover it. Feeling that I was scammed, I called another company, they came with the tools and checked out my yard and told me that I already had the clean out. With the clean out, they were be able to run the snake and clean the clog. So, A American Plumbing had lied to me, or the person just does not care to check where the clean-out is located. Either way, trying to bill me $75 for 5 minutes of walking, plus, forcing me to install the clean-out which I already had it in my back yard is unethical. Please stay away from this company. AHS and this company are the jokes. If somehow you have problem and AHS send this guy to you, be sure to know where the clean-out is located. And when the guy tried to tell you that you need to install one, ask him to get out of your property since he is trying to scam you like he did to other customers. The building code requires clean-outs at every turn so you probably have more than 1.

Horrible, Horrible. They were sent out by AHS home warranty. The tech Cody, punk, came in, cut the wall out where there seemed to be a leak. Saw the leak and then stated that he could not do slab work. I then called another very reputable plumber, who, repaired the pipe in 30 minutes. It was not in the slab, but just above it. A American Plumbing took the money and ran. This was not my first meeting with them. Previously, Tech Cody was just going to replace the plug in the toilet tank, and not the enire guts, that had duct tape on it. I waited for him to complete the plug to see if he was going to replace the entire guts. He was not. I had to ask him why he was not replacing all. Once I pointed it out, he replaced the guts of the tank. The receptionist was rude to me and America Home Shield. They also would not call in the fact that they could not do the repair. I had to pay out of pocket to get it repaired. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! RIP OFF!

I have a Home warranty through American Home Shield and, after I had waited three days for a different company to get in contact with me just to schedule a appointment time I was pretty frustrated. AHS transferred my service request to A-American and they were already calling me to schedule a timeframe before I could get off the phone with AHS. This company was out in less than the previous time it took for the original company. The two gentlemen (in two separate vans) who came to help me with my multiple issues were courteous, friendly, professional and prompt. They arrived in the time frame window that they said they would and got all of my issues fixed within an hour or less. I would absolutely recommend them for your plumbing issues and if I have any future issues I know who I'm requesting. Thank you kindly A- American for helping me out so quickly, I appreciate it greatly.

Started off on a rough note because they were running late and no one bothered to call and let us know. When I called the office I talked to the """"manager/dispatcher"""" and older woman who was pure NASTY and had zero customer service. When the plumber arrived he had a bit of an attitude at first, I'm sure because he hast to deal with that nasty hag in the office every day, but after a few minutes past he was fine. He diagnosed the problem and said that he didn't have the tools to fix it and they would have to come back Monday, this was on a Friday. Monday comes and I called the office to find out when they would be there because we were never provided a time. The first person I spoke with was semi-nice, but then they put that rude woman back on the phone and I was met with the same attitude as the Friday before. She told me that I wasn't on the schedule and that they wouldn't be able to make it out until the following Friday. On Friday a new plumber came out, he was on time and very pleasant. His name was Jerry. Jerry should give the nasty woman in the office a lesson on how to be a decent human. All in all, the issue seems to be fixed but I would never recommend them to anyone else based on their professionalism... which seems to be the trend among all these reviews. Fire that woman, if she owns the place then make her retire!

I am angry that I have to give this company one star as they deserve zero. I too had to use this company as a policy holder with AHS. PLEASE PLEASE to all who have had bad experiences with this company call AHS so this company will be blacklisted and never sent to AHS customers again. The company owner, Richard, came to my house and broke my kitchen faucet, which only had a small leak. He talked me into buying my own faucet """"so I could get what I wanted"""" and told me that he would reimburse me $80. I told him that my faucet wasn't an $80 faucet, that i had faucet coverage with AHS, and since he broke it he should replace it with something similar. Turns out my coverage with AHS entitled me to a $235 faucet reimbursement--if I had listened to what he told me I wouldn't have known that. Then he told me my pop up assembly in my bathroom sink (the stink stopper basically) which also had a small leak, wasn't covered by AHS, which was also a lie. He tried to come back a week later to do the repairs without going through AHS and didn't send them his estimate. I called them just to make sure the pop up assembly wasn't covered and it was, so when they called him to find out what he was doing coming back without going through them first, he said that the pop up assembly was missing parts ( they won't cover a repair if parts are missing), which it wasn't. He was pretty angry when he got to my house, probably because I complained to AHS and they told him he had to submit a report to them before doing the repairs , and was actually yelling at me while I was on the phone with one of their representatives. Then the repair is still leaking because he didn't seal anything. I had such a bad experience with him that I do not want him in my house again and am paying someone else to fix his bad work. He also didn't leave a receipt for his work and I had to call his office to get them to send one. REFUSE to have this company come into your home. You will be lied to about your coverage and coerced into repairs that might be covered but at least Richard the company owner knows what to tell AHS to make sure the repair isn't covered and you have to pay him. AHS took my complaints seriously and won't send him out to me again thankfully, but please contact them if you have had bad experiences so they will stop using this company.

Cody was great! He arrived within the time frame and gave me a courtesy update about 45min prior to arrival. Our toilet issue turned out to be an easy and quick fix, and he answered all my annoying questions. Very professional, polite, and patient. We will definitely use A-American again in the future!
