Hit or miss. I had a very pleasant experience with the company years ago when American Home Shield sent them out. Similar issue this time on a different faucet and the lies overflow. They didn't have the tools on the truck for the first visit. If you are a plumbing company and don't carry any shut-off valves on your truck you may need to reconsider your profession. I had to call and remind them they needed to send someone back out to complete the work order. On the second visit it was stated that several other houses had experienced this problem and AHS denied coverage. They would have to cut into the wall since the pex was too short, etc; $400. Not! Well long story short, the issue is fixed properly now under warranty as it should.

They were sent out by my home Warrenty company AHS and there was some confusion on the coverage I pay for with them. I told the tech Cody that I would pay for the repair and have American Home Sheild sort it out. Cody decided to leave and not complete the repair on my disabled mothers sink and refused to call back when I had him pages from the company 2 times.

PURE GARBAGE!!! We HAD to use this company several times when we had our home warranty. Recently our floor to toilet mount broke and I attempted to do it myself. Got the toilet of no problem but what lay beneath was the original piping/ ring which was rusted out and corroded thus making the repair above my pay grade. We called this company in a panic to get this situation corrected ASAP. Couldn't get them to the house for 3 days. Upon arrival (a Tuesday), the technician (Cody) tells me that he does not have the parts needed and he wont be able to do anything that day. In addition he tells me the only thing that he will be able to do is make a """"temporary"""" fix which will probably need to be addressed again in about 14 months. He also mentions a potential $1800-2000 job will eventually be needed to replace the piping. Cody then tells me that their call center will notify us as to when they can come out. Days pass and no call. My wife had to call them 3 days later"""" on Friday to schedule an appointment for Monday. They tell us the plumber will be at the house between 8 and 12 and that he would call us in the morning to give us an update as to when exactly he would be here..... no phone call! My wife again calls and gets a hold of Cody. He tells her that the part he needed was on the shelf on Friday and had been sitting there for about 2 years. When he went to pick up the part on Monday the part was no longer there. He then tells my wife that he has to track down the part and that he will call her when he does. All day on Monday, no call from Cody so now he is a no call no show. Tuesday (today) has passed and still no call from this company with """"amazing customer service"""". Oh, and my wife took a vacation day to be home for the no call no show. Today we called a different plumber, they were at the house in 2 hours, had the parts needed, and completed the project in less than an hour and a half with a """"permanent"""" fix. I mentioned to the plumber what Cody had said to me about it being a hard part to find and also the potential $2000 job and he told me he was full of you know what. Their call center is unprofessional, Cody is even more unprofessional, and apparently has no idea what he is talking about. This company obviously lacks professionalism, common courtesy, and integrity. Don't ever use this company, they will waste your time and energy. God knows how many people have been lied to by them. If there was a way to give a negative rating you can bet your butt I would. They're worse than used car salesmen.

Service person was very rude, young and inexperienced. A huge Rip Off. Cost 75$ (!), took 10 minutes. All that was done was replacement of a washer, which did not fix the sink leak - sink still leaks. Would not even look at the other two issues that needed to be fixed even though they were supposed to be serviced (said he didnt have them on his order) Came through American Home Shield insurance. (another consumer ripoff service story in itself, good for the real estate agents, good for companies they send but a complete scam to home buyers, sellers and all consumers). ANY company willing to work with American Home Shield should not be considered reputable. This is based on multiple experiences.

Horrible experience! from the initial argumentative & rude appointment making to Cody, the plumber who came in to fix a leak & a non functioning tub stopper. He was ill prepared, sloppy, unprofessional without proper equipment to complete srv nor clean up after himself. The plumber cut all caulking around the valves and left the debris in the tub and refused to recaulk. He said it's not covered. I say NEVER allow any professional in your home that does not fix what they undo. He had no """"penatrant oil"""" in his truck to use to open the tub plug so informed me he has to go to office, make report to get permission to buy this oil to use on rusty screws to open the tub stopper ($3.99@lowes 2 miles from my house) .he said wd40 won't work as I had some in my tool box. Flippant he was to say """"have at it or have your boyfriend do it."""" Could be couple weeks to reschedule he said What a joke!Plumber was curt and left black oily finger prints /boot prints everywhere in the tub & on bath door. He also broke the plastic cover on the middle valve. Its in pieces in photo. Very unprofessional & left job unsatisfactory. Watch out !! if you have home warrenty with american home shield for plumbing service as this is the only plumber they FORCE you to use under policy in charleston area. Both services a nightmare! I asked AHS , my warrenty company if I could hire my own plumber & get reimbursed, they Refused twice!! Photos before & after taken . The drip still occurs while in shower mode the drip continues thru the lower tub faucet. So I still have same problems prior to plumber arrival with a mess left behind & out $75 bucks! Ironically, I used wd40 and the rusted screws in the tub stopper came out in 2 minutes. Had plumber done the right thing he would see the interior lever is not functioning and perhaps I'd be able to take a bath. I Do NOT recommend A AMERICAN plumbing located in summerville sc!

I just bought this home and had back up water after 1 week staying in it. I had 1 year of Home Owner Warranty by American Home Shield, which is part of the home selling contract. Called American Home Shield and they sent this company to my house. The A American Plumbing guy came and walked to my back yard. And 5 minutes after he came, he told me that I had main line clog. He said he did not see the clean-out so it is not covered under the Home Warranty. After he made some phone calls, he gave me the bill of $75. I was shocked. He came to my house for 5 minutes of walking and billed me that much of amount, this is a joke and I refused to pay. He also said that I would need to hire him to install a clean out to fix the problem since he did not see anything on site. And of course I will have to pay him out of pocket money since AHS does not cover it. Feeling that I was scammed, I called another company, they came with the tools and checked out my yard and told me that I already had the clean out. With the clean out, they were be able to run the snake and clean the clog. So, A American Plumbing had lied to me, or the person just does not care to check where the clean-out is located. Either way, trying to bill me $75 for 5 minutes of walking, plus, forcing me to install the clean-out which I already had it in my back yard is unethical. Please stay away from this company. AHS and this company are the jokes. If somehow you have problem and AHS send this guy to you, be sure to know where the clean-out is located. And when the guy tried to tell you that you need to install one, ask him to get out of your property since he is trying to scam you like he did to other customers. The building code requires clean-outs at every turn so you probably have more than 1.

This company was sent to me by AHS. Both are a total joke! Five days later and I still don't have a hot water heater that should be covered by warranty. If you like voicemail and answering services these are the two companies for you. Good Luck Charleston if you choose to try these guys!!!!

I have used them several times, and that is ONLY because they are the only option permitted by American Home Shield Warranty. The problem has not been fixed, despite coming to fix it on more than one occasion. The receptionist is very unfriendly and difficult to work with for scheduling. She also did not have any information for me when I called 10 days after the first appointment to see the status of the parts that need to be ordered (I still have not heard back about this). In their favor, all of the plumbers who have come out to us have been very friendly and prompt.

I have an American Home Shield warranty and when I called about a plumbing issue, the service request went to American Plumbing. The company called quickly, however were unwilling to work with the customer on scheduling an appointment. Their driver is only in the Goose Creek area from 10 to 2 so they were unwilling to assist the tenants for a later time. I promptly called AHS and obtained the service of another contractor, who has already called back and can be there today. The receptionist/scheduler was rude and inflexible. If you can use another company do that so you don't have to deal with the rudeness.
