I agree with the previous statement. I literally felt ill after the plumber left. I was told a $95 service fee that would be applied to the service. The plumber replaced 2 $5 fittings on top of the water heater, which took him literally ten minutes. The charged me $175. I called immediately and was simply told they would send me an itemized invoice. When I complained, I was tld the price was correct. They charged $95 for one fitting and $80 for the other. I guess I went into the wrong profession. $175 for 10 minutes of work.

These folks come out quick when called, seem to do a good job, but are very VERY expensive. They replaced my hot water heater and expansion tank to the tune of $997.00. Good service but you'll be paying out the wazoo. If you're not in a crisis situation I would recommend shopping around and getting estimates before calling these folks. Again, fast and efficient service but you'll feel fleeced when they clean up and leave.

A word of warning about A American Plumbing To all those in need of plumbing services: I'd advise you all stay far FAR away from A American Plumbing. They were sent to me by American Home Shield, my home warranty company. First, A American Plumbing tried to get me to buy a replacement faucet for $105, which sells for $68 at Lowes. Then, the plumber came and installed the wrong type of faucet--informing me it was the wrong fit AFTER he'd installed it. He then left it to leak underneath the sink. When I discovered the leak, I asked him to come back to fix his mistake. He arrived the next day (late) and said I must have """"moved the pipes"""" and caused the leak myself. And let's not even begin to talk about their rude office. Just be warned.

THEY ARE AWFUL. Initial problem: leaky gasket under toilet tank. DIY: $5 and some time. With a new baby, we went through AHS and coughed up the $75 copay. It took over a week for the first visit. They were late, didn't call to say they were on the way, reeked of cigarette smoke, left muddy footprints on the carpet, and dirty handprints on the banister. They fixed the gasket and also """"fixed"""" the float valve.. WHICH WASN'T BROKEN. Their """"fix"""" caused a NEW leak, which flooded the bathroom. Over a dozen phone calls (not exaggerating) and another week plus later, they came out again and """"fixed"""" the new leak. They did not do ANYTHING. It flooded the bathroom AGAIN and now we have to replace the kitchen ceiling because of water damage. I only gave them one star because ZERO isn't an option.

Horrible experience! from the initial argumentative & rude appointment making to Cody, the plumber who came in to fix a leak & a non functioning tub stopper. He was ill prepared, sloppy, unprofessional without proper equipment to complete srv nor clean up after himself. The plumber cut all caulking around the valves and left the debris in the tub and refused to recaulk. He said it's not covered. I say NEVER allow any professional in your home that does not fix what they undo. He had no """"penatrant oil"""" in his truck to use to open the tub plug so informed me he has to go to office, make report to get permission to buy this oil to use on rusty screws to open the tub stopper ($3.99@lowes 2 miles from my house) .he said wd40 won't work as I had some in my tool box. Flippant he was to say """"have at it or have your boyfriend do it."""" Could be couple weeks to reschedule he said What a joke!Plumber was curt and left black oily finger prints /boot prints everywhere in the tub & on bath door. He also broke the plastic cover on the middle valve. Its in pieces in photo. Very unprofessional & left job unsatisfactory. Watch out !! if you have home warrenty with american home shield for plumbing service as this is the only plumber they FORCE you to use under policy in charleston area. Both services a nightmare! I asked AHS , my warrenty company if I could hire my own plumber & get reimbursed, they Refused twice!! Photos before & after taken . The drip still occurs while in shower mode the drip continues thru the lower tub faucet. So I still have same problems prior to plumber arrival with a mess left behind & out $75 bucks! Ironically, I used wd40 and the rusted screws in the tub stopper came out in 2 minutes. Had plumber done the right thing he would see the interior lever is not functioning and perhaps I'd be able to take a bath. I Do NOT recommend A AMERICAN plumbing located in summerville sc!

Service person was very rude, young and inexperienced. A huge Rip Off. Cost 75$ (!), took 10 minutes. All that was done was replacement of a washer, which did not fix the sink leak - sink still leaks. Would not even look at the other two issues that needed to be fixed even though they were supposed to be serviced (said he didnt have them on his order) Came through American Home Shield insurance. (another consumer ripoff service story in itself, good for the real estate agents, good for companies they send but a complete scam to home buyers, sellers and all consumers). ANY company willing to work with American Home Shield should not be considered reputable. This is based on multiple experiences.

STAY AWAY from this company. Like the other reviewer says poor service, and work. Will say problem is fixed and it is not......it took 2 of their employees to screw up a simple washer replacement. After they left and problem was supposedly FIXED, the leak that they came to was still there. To top it off they said it was going to do this and then stop......well it DID NOT, and WAS NOT EVER FIXED......had to have a real plumber come fix what they claim they had fixed. RIP OFF ARTIST. Do yourself a favor avoid the hassle and waste of money. So as far as this Co. goes, they get a zero and AHS really needs to spend a little more time and do research on their vendors.
