Simply requested a quote for a camera line inspection on a sanitary pipe. Their site stated they will reply within 24 hours. I requested 6-19-19, it's now July 1st. Don't recommend due to just first impression unprofessionalism.

Called with a leak at my moms house. Rodney was the only returned call. He was there for the estimate and some very bad news. That being said NO OTHER services even bothered to return my call. So of course Akins got the job. The work was done well and gentlemen who did the work were efficient and polite. The work was completed and from other I know that recently had the exact same issue, I got a great deal. Felt prices were very competitive if not the best. I have 2 more jobs planned and they will get the business.

Septic problem in late Dec 2017. Misdiagnosis! Akins estimate: $15,000. Actual cost with another company is $4100. No water use for 17 days for family of four. Doesn't start work until late afternoons and doesn't work weekends or holidays. On first visit, the plumber said area needed excavation to diagnose. Two days later after digging site I was told the entire system needed to be replaced because the 45 year old system had """"collapsed"""". He said I would need a permit ($250) from the county in order to start repairs. It was 3:30 pm Dec. 20th. Charges paid are $475 for digging site. Estimated cost for repairs $10,000. Applied for the permit 12/20. Permit was ready on 12/27. I gave details from permit to Akins home office so that the """"master"""" plumber could give a quote. I called plumber on 12/28 and he said he would get a quote to me (he was very busy...working 12 hr days....). Due to extra items required by the county, the cost would increase to $15,000. On Jan. 2 I sent a copy of the permit to the plumber. Never heard back. So we called another company. Thank goodness! Second company came on Jan 6 at 8:45 am. Diagnosis: broken baffle and about 10-15 feet of clogged pipe...NOT AN ENTIRE SYSTEM REPLACEMENT. A permit was NOT needed for the repair. So I am out $725 due to Akins Plumbing in Hoschton and had no water use for 17 days with a family of 4.

AA plumbing came out quickly and fixed a break in my plumbing line immediately. They did a great job!

Just don't feel good about my experience. Had called on weekend and set up and appointment for after Memorial Day, and they lost the appointment. Called back again and set up another appointment and was quoted $325 for a pumping on the phone. After they got here, it was raised to $500 because they said it would be more than 1000 gallons since the tank was over-full; but you really have no idea if it is reasonable or bait and switching because they have no meter to tell you how much they pumped. It is just picking numbers out of the sky. Even if it had a couple hundred gallons more -- they are charging at least twice as much per gallon for the extra gallons than the original gallons with this pricing. I just went ahead and did it because I figured that with any service charges; I wouldn't be better off cancelling and trying to find someone else -- plus that was the day I had off and needed it done. Finally, I was told my best option for my situation was to try flush some chemicals into the drain-field and that was $200 more, which feels like a lot to dump a few chemicals down a hole, but when you're being quoted many thousands of dollars for other alternatives. I regretted having done that immediately. I got this suspicious fishy feeling soon after the experience and started calling every company in the phone book to get additional quotes on what it would cost to do the work that was done, and asking questions such as if a chemical treatment like the one I had was a viable or reasonable solution. I couldn't a single one that didn't think it was a horrible idea and a complete waste of money. I didn't say I'd had it done; was just asking if it was something I could do and what the cost would be. Never got a cost, because no-one said they would ever do it. I called and expressed my concerns, and was supposed to receive a call back on what they'd be willing to do for me to change what I was feeling and 3 days later -- nothing -- so here we are -- this is my review... I just feel a bit sketched out. It may or may not be justified; but that is my feeling.

It took me 3 months researching before I decided to have Akins pump my septic tank. I am so glad I chose them. The price quoted was what I paid and my service guy was Nick. He was extremely friendly and informative. This was the first time I have went through this so he took the time to explain everything he was doing and had no problems answering my questions. You hear so many horror stories people go through from other companies so I am glad to know I chose the right company the first go round. Thanks!

We had the unfortunate experience of a backed up septic tank. We called them right at closing time and the guy I spoke to was super helpful in my panicked state of mind (imagine sewage rising up in your bathtub). He explained how to go outside and release pressure so that the sewage would drain out of our bathtubs. He even answered his cell after hours and answered a few more questions my husband had. The next day they arrived on time drained our septic tank and gave helpful pointers on how to avoid this ever happening again. In addition, he also warned us against using the treatment stuff designed to help breakdown everything in a septic tank. Apparently that stuffs kills the natural bacteria needed in a septic tank. Without a doubt I would recommend them and they will be the company that we call if we ever experience a plumbing problem again! It's nice to receive reliable customer service!

Went online to search for a Plumber in my area, was happy to see that they had an online appointment scheduler so I scheduled an appointment for the following day at 10:00 am. When 10:15 am rolled around I called and they had no record of it. Then they asked do you want someone out today, I said yes the pipes are leaking in the wall. Okay they said we will try to get someone out this afternoon and if they don't call you I will, but definitely tomorrow am then. No one ever called - nothing. Contacted another company at 6:15 pm and they were here by 11 pm and here again today. Sad that that this company still has not called me back. Good luck to you!

This company tried to take advantage of a holiday emergency by charging me $900 just to show up plus snaking and pumping fees. I realize it is Easter Sunday. I did not choose this day for my basement to flood with backed up sewage. They said it would be $250 to show up, $650 to take the risers out to get to the tank, and then the snaking and pumping fees of $500+ . Not a very Christian way to behave on Easter. Shame on you. Stay in church this morning, you need it. I found another company to come out who is not trying to take advantage of a bad situation.

Great job...less than competitor and definitely more honest!! Has done work at my house and now my grandparents house. Ask for Daniel H.
