Had Scott the Tech come over to checkout my furnace today, (11-23-22). Furnace was starting and stopping, not fully igniting. Scam artist said I needed to replace the whole furnace! I paid him his $105.00 blood money for the visit and immediately got a 2nd opinion. Tech cleaned something to do with the ignition system and that was it! Total cost $75.00! I've been with them since 2009 and am very disappointed. Lost all trust in them. If I do update my system, I definitely won't use them. If I could give them less than 1 star, I would.

Heater would not turn off. Problem was quickly diagnosed as a faulty thermostat. Thermostat was replaced (retail price about $75) and technician was gone in less than an hour later. We were charged $357 plus tax. They would not itemize the bill. Would not recommend anyone use them.

I Do NOT recommend AA Richards. Paid $10K for two compressors and one furnace. Chris is very personable when he is trying to get the initial job. He returned to my house four times to correct the a/c install which included a leak from the attic. The over flow pan damaged my living room ceiling. Another initial problem were pipes were reversed and a water fall was coming out onto my rear deck. The condensation pipe and emergency train were reversed. The air handler was not properly installed. The a/c was not efficient because I was air conditioning my attic? His reply is that we never noticed leaks etc. because the errors were made by him and his employee. Now I am paying a real professional company $1700 to correct the mess of installing a brand new furnace. How has this guy never been sued is beyond me? How is AA Richards still in business? Chris has no intentions of returning after he is paid in full. DO NOT HIRE AA RICHARDS. Run from this company as quickly as you can.

Chris from AA Richards showed up on time and wearing a mask.
I found him to be very honest and he knows his business very well.
He inspected my chimney which he found to be in good condition and gave me my certification at a very fair and honest price.

While he was there he found that my new central heating and AC was not running correctly because the ac condenser was running when it called for heat. He found that wire in the air handler was making contact with another wire. He took care of it at no additional charge.

I'm an home improvement contractor in NY & NJ and I found Chris to be very professional and honest in the manner that he runs his business.

My experience two other companies that came and gave me an estimate were no so honest.

One company told me told my chimney was in good condition but would certify it if I had a chimney liner installed for $1400

Another company told me that my chimney was in good condition but need a chimney liner, remove the old brick to the chimney and a chimney cap and wanted $6000.

I trust Chris from AA Richards that I having him do my HVAC in our new house.

As a contractor I would recommend AA Richards and he will be added to companies that I will use on my renovation projects.

The most horrifying experience of my life. DO NOT hire this money-grubbing sub-human. I had a air handler for my central air installed on October 4th, 2018. It started to leak this evening. Chris came to my house and checked the filter which was fine. He added coolant to the system. He wrote me up a bill for 479.00. I said I should still be under warranty. He said he cannot warranty for something like this???? He said I should have had to system checked. I ran it once after they installed it back in October. He, himself put in the coolant last year. I said obviously the system failed. He proceeded to tell me that he may have to put a new line in. When I asked him when he said, I'm booked solid whenever I get to it. I called him up to tell him that I would need to know because I don't want it to start leaking again. He said, you should be thanking me for coming out and I don't want to hear your bullshit. I know that he will not stand by a warranty because it doesn't exist. He tried to find any excuse to say that it was not his reponsibility. I will have to find a professional should I have a recurring problem. I paid over $7,000.00 for the air handler that was never installed correctly. He also insisted on installing attic stairs. The framing around the stairs is crooked and looks terrible. I could have done a better job myself with my eyes closed. Update: One hour later my a/c again began leaking water. Had to turn it off. I had to call another company because Chris frankly scares me. He is rude and arrogant and a scammer.7/9/2019, I hired another company to come in and fix the air-handler that was leaking. The technician found that the air-handler and the outdoor condenser were not compatible. They ran on two different refrigerants! The drain pan was crooked so all the water drained in the back and caused a flood in my attic. They never replaced the old drain pipe and it was clogged. So I had to purchase a new condenser and they had to reinstall the air-handler and make it compatible. He also never took out any permits, I was told. I would rather have NO a/c than ever have to deal with this low life

I AM UNDER CONTRACT WITH THIS COMPANY and Called to report Scam and a girl named Karen hung up on me. Anyway technician arrived 5 days later and said I have a leak in my AC that needed to be fixed. HE DID NOT FIX THE LEAK AND NEVER TOLD US that he just put in Freon because it was raining. He tried to originally charge us $845.00 and then went on to try and sell us another AC Unit. Technician told me ""I screwed up, I called the Co for an appointment and not him"". Not sure what that meant.

This company should drop the word ""heating"" out of it's name! I called to restore the heat in my place on a Friday (10 degrees outside) and they sent over this character that basically walked in and was more worried about putting promo magnets and stickers everywhere instead of fixing my problem. He was there for about 10 minutes. Charged me $100. Gave me a wise a$$ explanation of what he did and left. I waited the two hours he said it would take for it to heat up. 5 hours later, I sent a text as per request. Nothing! I called again, Nothing! On Monday (3 days later) I finally got ahold of the tech who said ""I know what your problem is; it's a rather big job and will cost upwards of $500"". If he knew what my problem was; why he didn't he fix it on the day I called? I decided I didn't trust him and felt like he was taking advantage of my lack of knowledge with this stuff. Tuesday the stars were aligned and my family friend (who is hard to get) came over and fixed the issue within an hour and charged me $75 for the part. How could the job have been upwards of $500 if I only paid $75. If I add $100 for an hour of labor that's still $175; a far cry from $500. Now the heat is on and running just fine. I can't speak for every tech in the company; but my specific guy definitely was trying to take advantage and sell me a job I didn't need. Very dissatisfied! Glad I didn't get had by him and pay for a ""big job"" that turned out to be a very small one. Seriously, proceed with caution!

Does not honor their own signed contracts. Very high priced repairs. Performs work that is not needed. My opinion, avoid and find another contractor. Was told that my maintenance and parts contract was not valid but checked and it was. Scam artists!!! Try to resolve this but he was nasty and said he didn't care.

BEWARE OF THIS BUSINESS- SCAM ARTISTS- The technician (Richard himself) came to my house to diagnose an AC condenser. He gave a first price to which I agreed, upon further diagnosis within 5 minutes , he gave me a 2nd price which is double of the first price. I told him I have to think it over considering that summer is almost over. I paid the diagnostic fee and he left. I went to check the condenser only to find that he had cut all wires to the unit and took the motor with him. He caused further damage to the unit. I called him back and told him that we realized that we have a warranty contract on the unit with PSEG. He argued that my contract with PSEG will not cover me and that I need to give him the job. He claims he also does work for PSEG and know that they are going to charge me as well. I told him that I needed things some put back the way he found them. He replies that he would not be doing that unless I pay him. He came back and dropped the motor in my driveway and took off. It told him I was going to call the police. Says he did not care. I called the office and complained to Denise who told me she was going to get someone to call me back. I called her back when I did not hear from anyone. She told that I am on my own since I want to get the police involved. This cannot be legal!
