We had the water heater installed back at 2018 by A&A Plumbing. It is an American Standard.
We also install a earthquake device long time ago, it had turn off our gas when workers did something. This past sunday, we had something done on the roof and sure enough the worker trigger the device to shut off the gas. We are able to turn it on but not able to pilot the water heater.
We called the city and they could not light it up. We called our regular handyman , he cannot light it up neither. So at 6pm I call the store and left a voice mail. Mike called me back in 15 minutes and with a short conversation, he asked I call again tomorrow first thing in the Moring at 7.30am. At this point, there is really not much can be done in a evening of sunday.... I called around 7:45am the next morning feeling a bit guilty it was so early but Mike answered the phone and told me someone will come by 11am. My husband and I try so many times following the instruction but can not get it light up. A nice man came around 11ish and is able to light it up in a 2nd. We are floored. He also show us how to light it up. The key is to hold it for 2 to 3 minutes of the pilot knob.....
We are thrill with the service and support. Thank you for the good old fashion service. We appreciate it!

A&A Plumbing, Sunnyvale, installed my new toilet. Mike, the owner was polite and professional. Perfect installation and he took away the 27-year-old toilet.

Mike was friendly and offered a tip or two for maximizing the functioning of the toilet.

The only less than ideal thing was, due to employee illness, they had to cancel a prior appointment. On that prior day I waited for their arrival, but they never came. I even called three times, left 3 voicemails, but never heard back.

If you decide to hire A&A Plumbing, I recommend that you check their website to get a discount that is available (as of January 2022) if the client pays other than with a credit card. It saved me $20.

A&A Plumbing is located in Sunnyvale near Wolfe and Fremont.

Before using A&A, be sure to get a price quote in advance, especially for small projects. My project took less than an hour and I was charged about *double* the average hourly rate. In my case, I was told afterward it was a flat rate price. Learn from my mistake and get a quote. If no quote is provided, go elsewhere as there are many competent plumbers with reasonable rates.

Mike is transparent, fair and trustworthy in his under promise over deliver workmanship. He will point out if a competitor is overbidding or incorrectly diagnosing a problem. His team creatively solved a drain mainline issue without having to replace the entire line. Highly recommend but almost don't want to because too many will fill up his calendar :-)

Move ahead to April 2021, and we have a toilet whose pedestal is leaking at the base. We worried that this could rot the subfloor.
A&A came promptly and fixed the problem, not as severe as we had feared.
The technician was effective and polite.
Strange side effect, though: tried to call to thank them, for two days, and the phone was not answered (did not want to leave a message). I called both the Palo Alto (650) and Sunnyvale (408) numbers, with the same non-result.
