No show. Requested service via HomeAdvisor for water heater repair. A-1 was first to call within the hour. Told us a tech is in the area, and will be at our home no later than 5pm. I mentioned it's important that someone be here by then, because we had an evening appointment. He reiterated ""no later than 5pm"", and if it had to be later someone will call us. We subsequently turned down several plumbers who also responded to the HomeAdvisor request, because we expected A-1 to do the repair. Well, no one came by 5pm. We called and left a voicemail to find out what's going on. We waited until 6pm - still no one came and no one called. We were late to our dinner, and had cold water that night. We expected someone to call us back the next day to apologize - didn't happen.

Raymond at A-1 is the absolute best! We had purchased four new appliances for our kitchen, all of which required various work to be done in order to have installed. We called Raymond late on a Saturday evening, & he sent out Jim to help us on Sunday. Jim was completely fantastic. He diagnosed, fixed, and proactively took care of everything that needed to be done. Jim's professionalism, expertise, and downright friendliness guaranteed that we'd always ask for him and A-1. Less than a week later, we developed a leak in one of the installed water lines. Raymond himself came out to look at it, and the reason for the leak? One of our cats had bitten the line. Despite the problem being our fault, Raymond fixed it at no charge. You seriously couldn't possibly find anyone better than Raymond, plus Jim, and everyone at A-1!!

I came home at 1030 pm on a Saturday night only to discover suddenly that a pipe had burst a leak and my entire basement was flooded about four inches deep. The flooding continued before my eyes at an unnerving pace. In a panic, I called A-1 Total Construction Service, Inc. and spoke w Raymond, who calmly figured out over the phone immediate next steps for me to take until they could get someone over to my house. In a nutshell, we stopped additional flooding that night, Raymond sent someone over to get rid of the sitting water in my basement and to install fans, and then he sent over a highly competent and courteous plumber the next morning (Corey) to do the repairs. Corey identified the problem quickly, he explained it very clearly to me, and then he completely fixed the problem with minimal cost. I am grateful to have discovered such a wonderful plumbing company to work with. I expect I will call on them exclusively in the future!

A few months ago Ray, the owner, came to our West LA condo building to help locate a leaking shower. He figured it out quickly and I was especially happy since he came himself rather than postpone the issue for an appointment. I promised him that I would call A-1 again when another plumbing problem occurred.
This time, it was a leaking common pipe in the wall between floors. His team found a complication and quickly referred us to the proper contractor. When that was complete, A-1 returned immediately and completed the repair. That's good service and a feeling of being well cared for.
I would certainly, as Board member for the building or individually as a unit owner, call A-1 for future plumbing needs.

Raymond Gray and his employees at A-1 Total Service Plumbing are the best contractor/plumbers I have ever had the pleasure of working with.

Background Story: I came home to find that 1/3 of my house had flooded with raw sewage. In a panic I called a highly recommended competitive plumber who drained the blockage and quoted me 35% above fair market value for the huge repair I would need done. After researching plumbers, my brother contacted Raymond Gray: our hero!

Raymond took our call after 8PM and stayed in contact through the evening addressing ALL of our questions. Raymond and his employees showed up at 11AM the next morning and began work immediately. He quoted a fair price and completed the massive sewage job to the main line in the street in 36 hours during Christmas week! Raymond worked with our neighbors and coordinated with the previous contractor who made the errors resulting in our backup. Raymond and his employees were courteous, kind, friendly, trustworthy, reliable, and reachable 24 hours a day! He held my hand through the entire process. I would recommend him to anyone and everyone who needs significant plumbing/sewage work completed.

Raymond also put us in contact with the 911 Restoration who came the same day and, at Raymond's request, began work immediately. He made a crummy holiday disaster exponentially better!

Had a gas leak gas company said our gas main is leaking. I called A1 they came out 90 minutes later like I was told. They did their inspection also found water main leaking the guy that came showed me exactly what was going on gave me an estimate and time frame on how long he said it would take 2 days. I went ahead and hired them to perform the work simply because i had good feeling about this company. I was not disappointed they did an excellent job they were courteous, professional and did all the work in 1 day no extra charges thats right exactly what the estimate was. I WAS AMAZED that never happens. I would definitely recommend this company and will use them again. Thanks A1 for your honesty and promp service.

I had a plumbing urgency at one of my rental properties in Culver City today. The water heater died and was gushing. My normal plumber really wanted to me to stick it to me on the price of the repair and their service guy was so rude to me. So I told them to pound sand. I did some Yelp research, called a few highly rated shops and found these guys, A-1. Their price was a bit less than the others and I decided to give them a shot.

Boy was I impressed. The plumbing professional, Shawn, was a pleasure to speak to and was obviously very passionate about his work. We had a bit of back and forth on the cost of a few needed ""extras"", but I feel I received a very fair price from a top notch professional at the end of the day.

Highly recommend these guys!

We have used many different companies for plumbing and hands down A1 is the best!
We had a leak in our ceiling from our upstairs bathroom and the ceiling was literally splitting open. The gentleman on the phone said he would dispatch his guy to come right over.
Sean came and was very professional, polite and through. Explained what he was going to do which made me feel better!
I've had other companies come out that take there sweet time and just diddle daddle but not him.
Highly recommend A1! I know I'll be referring them to all my friends and the company I work for! We recently had our sinks all backing up and that company was awful!
Check A1 out! You won't regret it!
