I wish I would have read the comments before proceeding with A-1. It would have saved me time and my sanity. A-1 was referred to me through Nicor home solutions for water in my crawlspace and possible leak. They called me right away for an appointment. Major plus, but unfortunately, when Patrick (plumber) arrived he stated that he did not have the proper equipment nor the proper attire for the job. Their dispatcher didn't tell him about the water. Ok, so we rescheduled. On the new day we get a voicemail about the tech having truck problems. Ok cool...rescheduled again. On this day, we get a call from the tech stating there was a conflict of schedules. Reschedule #3! Finally, the day comes to get things done! Nope! They sent Charlie. A plumber who had no idea of the situation and was told this claim put in as a NEW claim! I was done! I cancelled the service with Nicor and went with another company. The plumbers were not at fault here. They go where they're sent. Patrick and Charlie were excellent with their manners and knowledge. And at least they were honest, but to me communication is key and apparently that was not important to A-1.

Honest plumbers are very hard to find! Emily stated this company will be used for future needs. This is not what I experienced on 5/6/2022, Still waiting on Dennis to call me back. Noticed leak, possibly a week later. Charley replaced basket strainer and didn't tighten pipe connector. What an idiot, tried to blame someone else. I called company and spoke with Debbie several times, who told me Dennis will contact me. He must be off the planet...still waiting. Beware, I have Nicor Home Solutions, who also the blame for continuing using this company to service clients. Companies, need to be accountable for what workers do. I have damaged to kitchen and living room flooring. Ebony (daughter) noticed leak a week later and water was coming out aggressively around 5/15/2022. I was upset and called A - 1 Suburban and Nicor. I was given a June date but said this is an urgent matter. Charley came back out 5/23/2022, and casually said...someone bothered the pipe connector. I didn't and couldn't physically do it and you were the only person under the sink. He also had a lot of nerves to say no charge for me coming back. What a Joke, I asked about flooring and was told it was already like that. I told this guy on 5/6/22, 3 planks prompted me to call Nicor. So that's, when I used Nicor Home Solutions to have someone come out. I chose A-1 Surburban, unclogged sink a year earlier. I requested company again. This time Charley was sent and possibly got distracted from his phone call. I wanted so help with repairing flooring, but this fell on deaf ears.

Called them for appointment 2/21/2022 - was given 3/2 date. 3/2 came and no show - when I called they said they had no record of my call. Made new appointment for 3/9 - they came but said they did not have equipment necessary with them - $65 please - paid. New appointment set for 3/12, but cancelled because they did not have anyone available for that date. New date set for 3/16 - sinks rodded without luck, but they said they needed sonar to determine if there were other problems, and they would call with new date to be back and $300 please - paid - never heard from them again, not even a courtesy call to say why they would not be back. Had to start over with new plumber. DO NOT HIRE THESE PEOPLE!

use my home warranty that is through NIPSCO The Person called back to set up the appointment and she told me Saturday , and I asked her if they could come out sooner, and she yells at me and told me she was sending the claim back and that they would not do it. I have been trying to get somebody to come out and now my warranty is not helping me why do I pay for warranty. The company is A-1 Suburban Plumbing. They need to get better people there to work and get the one's with the Bad attitude out.

Do Not Hire This Company.
I had an appointment time between 12pm-4pm. The service technician didn't show up until 7:00pm. Replaced the pressure valve on my water heater and now the pressure valve is leaking once again, worse than it was prior to being replace.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY. I've dealt with them more than once. The first time they had to come back 3 days for a leaking pipe. Then the next time they caused more damage that I originally called them to repair. STAY AWAY

If I could give them a negative rating I would. They are very unprofessional. The office/dispatchers are rude and nonchalant. Bad, Bad, Bad! Run away from this company. Do not do business with them.

Well..I was about to detail my experience with A-1 (yeah right) Suburban Plumbing's ""supervisor"" TRACEY, but seems like MANY OTHERS have already beat me to the punch!

To basically reiterate what everyone else said, yes, Tracey is rude, unprofessional, hostile, and defensive from the moment you speak with her. I would tell you about A-1's service but I never even made to the point of making an appointment! I, too, went through/was referred by Nipsco's Home Solutions. I was given the appt. of today, Labor Day, which I am aware it is a holiday but that was the day given to me with a window between 8am-12pm. With no call by them by 11:45am, I gave a call and spoke with a live person answering service of whom said she would have them call back right away.

Tracey calls me. Attitude from the jump! She said that I was supposed to call them to make the appointment, I informed her that that was not how it was explained to me. She then interrupted me and said how that's how they've been doing it for over 25 years, etc. She proceeded to tell me how I'm confused and did I want to make the appointment or not?

Now, I told her that maybe the lady was new at Home Solutions but the bottom line was I was trying to set the appointment but Tracey was absolutely RUDE, UNPROFESSIONAL, etc, that I was so taken aback that I had to tell her so. She then proceeds to tell me that SHE DIDN'T THINK SHE WAS RUDE! I asked for a supervisor and she said that she WAS the supervisor! REALLY? I said that she was a bad example and that I wanted an apology because all I wanted was to make the appointment. She never did apologize! I asked for the owner, she said she doesn't ""give out his number"", etc. I told her, in the day of Yelp, Google Reviews, etc, that her rudeness would cause business to turn away. I also told her that I didn't think she was new, but she must've been comfortable to turn away brand new customers without fear of getting in trouble on her job.

So, I let her know that I would be filing a complaint with Home Solutions, etc, and I said, really, Tracey, is it really worth all of this without simply giving an apology? She stood by her belief that she wasn't rude which brings me here. And lo and behold, there are MORE complaints about the same person!!!!

DENNIS, I'm guessing she's someone personally important to you because she's got complaints going back to 2016 and you still have her as your employee. At this point, she doesn't care, and maybe YOU don't either. It's obvious you care about her because you keep her employed, but she CERTAINLY DOESN'T CARE ABOUT YOU OR YOUR BUSINESS BECAUSE SHE KEEPS ACTING THIS WAY EVEN WHEN UNPROVOKED! If you don't care along with her, please do us customers a favor and stop soliciting business you're neither serious nor professional about.

Speaking of professional, Tracey is VERY angry. She needs counseling. It's very obvious, she's a woman in pain and she's lashing out at people. I'm not trying to be mean. But seriously, she's not ok.
