If I could give them a negative rating I would. They are very unprofessional. The office/dispatchers are rude and nonchalant. Bad, Bad, Bad! Run away from this company. Do not do business with them.

Well..I was about to detail my experience with A-1 (yeah right) Suburban Plumbing's ""supervisor"" TRACEY, but seems like MANY OTHERS have already beat me to the punch!

To basically reiterate what everyone else said, yes, Tracey is rude, unprofessional, hostile, and defensive from the moment you speak with her. I would tell you about A-1's service but I never even made to the point of making an appointment! I, too, went through/was referred by Nipsco's Home Solutions. I was given the appt. of today, Labor Day, which I am aware it is a holiday but that was the day given to me with a window between 8am-12pm. With no call by them by 11:45am, I gave a call and spoke with a live person answering service of whom said she would have them call back right away.

Tracey calls me. Attitude from the jump! She said that I was supposed to call them to make the appointment, I informed her that that was not how it was explained to me. She then interrupted me and said how that's how they've been doing it for over 25 years, etc. She proceeded to tell me how I'm confused and did I want to make the appointment or not?

Now, I told her that maybe the lady was new at Home Solutions but the bottom line was I was trying to set the appointment but Tracey was absolutely RUDE, UNPROFESSIONAL, etc, that I was so taken aback that I had to tell her so. She then proceeds to tell me that SHE DIDN'T THINK SHE WAS RUDE! I asked for a supervisor and she said that she WAS the supervisor! REALLY? I said that she was a bad example and that I wanted an apology because all I wanted was to make the appointment. She never did apologize! I asked for the owner, she said she doesn't ""give out his number"", etc. I told her, in the day of Yelp, Google Reviews, etc, that her rudeness would cause business to turn away. I also told her that I didn't think she was new, but she must've been comfortable to turn away brand new customers without fear of getting in trouble on her job.

So, I let her know that I would be filing a complaint with Home Solutions, etc, and I said, really, Tracey, is it really worth all of this without simply giving an apology? She stood by her belief that she wasn't rude which brings me here. And lo and behold, there are MORE complaints about the same person!!!!

DENNIS, I'm guessing she's someone personally important to you because she's got complaints going back to 2016 and you still have her as your employee. At this point, she doesn't care, and maybe YOU don't either. It's obvious you care about her because you keep her employed, but she CERTAINLY DOESN'T CARE ABOUT YOU OR YOUR BUSINESS BECAUSE SHE KEEPS ACTING THIS WAY EVEN WHEN UNPROVOKED! If you don't care along with her, please do us customers a favor and stop soliciting business you're neither serious nor professional about.

Speaking of professional, Tracey is VERY angry. She needs counseling. It's very obvious, she's a woman in pain and she's lashing out at people. I'm not trying to be mean. But seriously, she's not ok.

Horrible Costumer Service!
Was referred here through my home warranty company. Would have went with them but when I called back to reschedule the appointment the scheduler Tracy has the worst attitude. Basically told me "" Well we had a plumber out there already today. You should have done the replacement today!"" I'm ok, maybe she's having a bad day. She refused to give me information I wanted in regards to the brand of water heater, etc...I call back the next to schedule hoping for another representative. Got her instead? Same bad attitude. I quickly called my warranty company and switched to a different plumbing company in which they came out the next day.
Whoever owns this company should consider hiring a better scheduler/ receptionist. You are definitely losing business because of her.

Homeowner Beware.
Please be careful when using A-1. Be sure to document conversations, get estimates in writing and monitor the work. I own a property in the area and live out of state. They did work at the property for me and overcharged labor by three hours in an attempt to take and extra $300 for the job. The tenant confirmed the time spent at the property.
The tech also ""misquoted"" the estimate to me and the tenant and the final invoice was nearly three times what I expected.
I found the office staff to be rude and confrontational during our conversations around the charge for the work. They finally agreed that the tech overcharged for labor and apologized for the ""miscommunication."" I do not believe this was a miscommunication. While the work was done well, I do not appreciate the attempt to take advantage of me and steal money.
If you choose to use this company, please document everything... conversations, quotes, time spent on the job, etc. You should also ask for a detailed invoice to review all charges.

The receptionist is rude. They plumber who came was polite, but like other reviewers have said, their follow up is atrocious. A part had to be ordered and I was told it would arrive on Wednesday at the latest and they would be back out to fix it. I call and the part HASN'T arrived and I'll have to schedule a new appointment for them to come and do the work. Let's see if I actually get a call back today.

Called to follow up on a service repair claim, a woman (who said to be the manager) had a rude and extremely unprofessional tone on the phone with me, and was not willing to answer all my questions with the proper tone and level of knowledge needed for someone working this business. I tried to address this issue with her but she refused to acknowledge her unprofessionalism and to provide me with a better customer experience. Importantly, they are not willing to respond to emergency repairs quickly and efficiently.
DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THESE PEOPLE like I did. Bring your business somewhere else where people CARE about the customer and KNOW how to handle inquiries and service.

This place is horrible for follow up and customer service. This company was assigned to me through the Sears Home Warranty program to fix a faucet and they came and did the service call, which I paid $60 for and they were supposed to order the replacement parts needed to fix the faucet and then return to fix the faucet. It has been over two weeks and I have call them three times since they were here on 11/29/2016 and still no response on when I will get my faucet fixed. I received an email from Sears today to call the customer service team. So I called thinking that I would have a date scheduled for the A-1 to come and install the necessary parts to fix my faucet,..No. Sears Home Warranty customer service called to tell me that they can reassign my claim to another vendor since A-1 has been so unresponsive, which I agreed to do. I feel cheated since I had pay them a $60 service fee. Please stay away from this company.

Stay away and go with a more reputable company. Plumber brought a young kid with him. Never found that the underlying root cause which was a clogged sewer line. Paid an $85 service call for nothing. Was told I had a cracked sewer line which was not the case. Ended up getting a second and third opinion and went with one of the other vendors.
