I recently purchased a home, and had A-1 Prestige (Juan and Junior) come out to correct an improper hot water heater installation (e.g. handyman hired by previous owner) and provide estimates to run a water line to my refrigerator and a gas line for a future gas dryer. I had noticed a musty smell under the kitchen sink, and asked them to look at it while they were there. Good thing they were out that day! Juan discovered that I had a big split in the kitchen drainpipe that was pouring water into the wall! They removed some dry wall and patched up a huge split in the drain pipe. They then removed as much water as they could reach and gave me some good advice on how to mitigate mold (leak was recent so no mold). I hired them a second time to come out and fix a slow tub drain and replace shower heads for me. The third time I hired them to install a recirculating pump that I purchased on my hot water heater. Juan is very knowledgeable, courteous, prompt, and they do very good professional work. They even offered to haul off the old hot water heater the previous homeowner left behind in the garage. So far, the main office has been very accommodating with my schedule and worked me in within a reasonable time frame. (my plumbing issues were not emergencies).

I don't write a lot of reviews on Yelp, but it is so seldom that I have such a great experience with a plumber I just had to take a minute to review these guys. I had a toilet go sideways on me right before I was throwing a party - you can imagine the panic! These guys were right on it. They (JT was his name) were prompt, efficient, affordable and, most importantly, honest. I know nothing about plumbing was desperate and could have been taken to the cleaners because my back was up against a wall. JT actually calmed me down and assured me all would be good - how often can you say that?!? Two thumbs up!

Called on Sunday concerning a leak in the laundry area leaking down to lower bathroom. Was told they would work me in or latest the following day. Monday told not scheduled. Owner called me blaming illness of workers etc. I have worked with these folks for at least 15 years and recommended them highly to all. Owner claimed they were booked for several weeks. And...I could have been told this on Sunday? Called Bill Howe! They arrived in 30 minutes and provided quick, courteous service. Avoid this place like the plague!

A1 Prestige Plumbing came out to my house to fix a blockage in my tub faucet because the hot water pressure had decreased. A1 Plumbing told me it was simple fix.

The technician came out, pulled out the faucet stem and found some sort of fiber stuck in the stem, pulled it out and reassembled the faucet. They didn't say the stem had to be replaced or anything was bad it was just a piece of fiber large enough to block the hole.

My bad, I didn't check the faucet after he left... I'm not a plumber and he's supposed to be the expert. I trusted them to do the job right.

Then he had me sign off on a sheet of paper saying the work was not WARRANTIED and had me pay a $90.00 service charge. I didn't think anything of it because he didn't replace any parts so obviously there wasn't anything to warranty... well NO WARRANTY also translates to NO GAURANTEE.

After he left, that afternoon I realized that the tub faucet had a drip. I put a cup under the faucet and called them back. Well apparently no warranty means that if they have to come back out to fix something they either broke or didn't do right I GET CHARGED again for another service call. This is what NO WARRANTY means. It means they don't guarantee that their technicians will do a good job or not break something else in the process but they will come out an fix it if you pay them.


If A1 Prestige Plumbing was reputable then they would guaranteed the work their technicians do, not hide behind a NO WARRANTY policy. Now I have a leaky faucet when all I had when they left was low pressure.

UPDATE: 2.10.2016
A1 called back said they won't charge to come back out and it would be part of the service call BUT, it will now cost me $130.00 to replace the stem. When I asked if that was the cost of the part they said yes. I questioned them further saying that I had actually priced the part myself at Home Depot for $8.00 and her story changed to, ""the cost is because we have to pick up the part, drive to your place and install it"". ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!!!

I bought some tools, and the part from Home Depot and when I took off the knob, like I had said originally to them, the stem was loose. All they had to do was come out tighten it.

Some companies don't call back right away, some never call back. A-1 Prestige ANSWERED THE PHONE. i have an OLD house and when JUAN came out, he knew it was a tough job and he diagnosed it correctly. He did a great job, working diligently until the job was done, making sure everything worked properly, and cleaning up after he was done. I think I just found my go-to plumbing company in A-1 Prestige and Juan!

Second time customer due to this company's honesty and efficiency. They came out today for a bad sink clog turned disaster. They kept me abreast of the situation as they worked to minimize the financial ""damage"" and rebuilt my drain. They had all the supplies and materials needed to accomplish the goal quickly, and showed me everything that needed to be done before doing it to make sure I was on board. There were no surprises, and their customer service was stellar. They even went the extra mile to clean the sink of the mortar that had clogged it in the first place, to prevent a repeat disaster. I highly recommend them, and with this old house, will be certain to use them next time I have any plumbing needs - as I'm sure they will arise.

I recently had a serious plumbing situation and it was Sunday. I called A-1 Prestige Plumbing and immediately got a call back from the owner James Thiry. He arrived at my home and quickly diagnosed the problem. He let me know the different options available, which was to snake the drain or change out the corroded pipe. He explained what the difference would mean and how much each would cost. There was never any high pressure sales involved, just straight, honest explanations. He was very thorough, professional, reasonably priced, and did not leave my home in a mess. I will defiantly call ""JT"" when I am ready to change out the pipes and recommend them highly.

Stay away...they will RIP you off. Had a simple plugged drain, and they charged me $270! Said they had to go up on the roof, and there is 'liability' fee for that. No one asked them to go up on the roof...they eventually found that they could unplug the drain by going through a sink drain. Imagine that. Everyone else in the past has charged less than $120. They also have a customer relation issue with some sn*tch named Carla. When you complain about the price, she says 'That is what we charge' and 'you didn't have to use us'...Ummm...GUESS WHAT?!?!?! NEVER AGAIN Will stick with Black Mtn. Plumbing

Called this company because it it local. Website said it was open. Explained I had a clogged toilet. Operator took information and said they would get back to me on Monday. Really don't waste your time with this company. Either their website lies or the operator does.

Prestige does major problems and small problems. Plus they are 24 hour service. These guys have rerouted water pipes, installed faucets, water heater and fixed leaks. Juan is one of the techs and is a top notch plumber that also knows construction! These are the guys to trust your plumbing to. No matter what the problem is, they will figure it out and fix it.
