We had a major plumbing issue during a very busy Saturday, our busiest day at the bar I manage. At first one of the restrooms was backed up, which soon moved to both bathrooms, causing all drains all around our facility to start backing up.

Todd came out quickly and diagnosed our problem as a block of the main sewage pipe leading out to the street. He was very professional in his demeanor and approach, though it took him a few days to get the problem resolved (through no fault of his own), he was persistent and had everything running smoothly in no time at all.

Just yesterday we had a guest throw glass into one of our toilets and then flush it, causing the toilet to clog. Todd came out, removed the toilet, got it flowing again, and re installed the toilet in no time at all!

I would highly recommend Todd's A-1 Plumbing service to anyone in need of assistance.

Todd was very fast and efficient. I had a clogged drain in my shower, which I was unable to unclog myself. Todd was in and out of my house in ten minutes. The drain is flowing great now. Thanks Todd.

Todd came out and quickly diagnosed our problem in are master bathroom (sink). We had another company in and they informed us that we need to replace the whole pipe in the wall and could not unclog the sick. This was not the case when ""A-1 came to the rescue"". The even checked the tub drain and charged us a minimal fee. I would higly recommend A-1 Plumbing to others!!!!

I chose this guy because of his reviews here on yelp. The first time he came he said he would be here at 3pm and didn't arrive till about 6:30pm and never called to give a courtesy call that he would be late. When he came, he was here about 10 minutes and scheduled to come back the next day at 10:30am and promised he wouldn't be late. The next day he didn't arrive till about 11:15am and again didn't receive a courtesy call. He unclogged my drain through my toilet but advised it would be very temporary unless I installed a clean out in the front yard. I needed to speak with the landlord and so I didn't do it that day and he put the toilet back and left. About 3 days later just like he said the bathroom started filling up again but because he didn't seal my toilet correctly it flooded the bathroom(the water started leaking from the bottom of the toilet). I called him to come fix the problem that he didn't fix and to install the clean out and he said he would do both the next day. He again arrived late the next day without a courtesy call and installed the clean out but still didn't fix the seal because he said he had other jobs to do(this was on Friday 1/10/14) but assured me he would come back on Sunday or Monday. Today is Monday and I had to call and see if he was still coming cause I didn't hear anything Sunday and he said he would come today. I talked to him at 1pm today. It is now 9pm and I am still waiting for him to fix his mess up. The only reason I gave him two stars is because when he finally comes, he gets the job done(or so I think). If you are willing to wait all day hoping he will come I recommend todd but if not I would definetely find someone else.

Kitchen sink and garage sink were clogged and filled up. Tried to fix it myself with some nasty sulphur smelling drain cleaner which only made matters worse. Called A-1 and he came out after 5pm on a Saturday. He was up on the roof in the dark snaking out the problem through the vent. I had relatives staying with us and the quick fix saved the evening for us. I would definitely recommend and use A-1 again!
P.S. My son says to say hi to ""the truck man."" :)

Arrived half an hour late.
Asked to use my ladder even though he had one on his truck.
Charged $125 for a simple drain clean.
Doesn't take plastic. Had to dig out the checkbook. Haven't had to do that in years.
Stated ""that will be $150 or $125 if you leave a review on Yelp"".
Well, here it is.
Bottom line for my experience: not horrible, but not great. I'll try someone else next time.

Our friend Betty referred us to Todd. He came out same-day and quickly diagnosed our problem -- a leak in a 1/2"" copper pipe in the crawl space. Our crawl space is very small, you can only get around on your belly, and he was a bit gun-shy about going down there, but who can blame him? He once got trapped under his truck while changing the transmission and barely made it out with only a couple of broken ribs. So I offered to go down with him and show him where the leak was. He was nice enough to crawl through the whole space with me and look at some of our old cast iron pipes on the other side of the house, and give me some tips for maintenance and inspection.

Once Todd found the exact point of the leak he had me go back out and turn the water on and off for him as he worked. He used a simple clamp and rubber patch to fix the pipe. Easier and cheaper than cutting the copper pipe, which could have turned into an expensive job quickly. I appreciated the economical solution. And it should last for years, by which time the entire pipe will likely need replacing.

At Todd's recommendation we replaced the pressure regulator, which was nearing the end of its life and had likely worsened the leak in the pipe. Problem solved, at a good price too.

My only complaints? He was late, which is understandable given the nature of his work. But he did call ahead. And he didn't discuss costs up front, just wanted to dive in and fix things, but I can't blame him for that. A couple of minor issues, really.

Todd is a loud east-coast kinda guy, blunt and direct, but honest and friendly, and he knows his plumbing. We liked him a lot, and will use him again, without hesitation.

I would give a bonus star if I could for his tricked-out old-school step van. Sweet.

Something is funky in my pipes. I get it, I own an older home (1940's). Well, funky is good for a bass line, but bad for piping. Anytime we ran the w/d, it was backing out through a work sink in the garage, and the kitchen sink was backing up, too. My husband tried to fix it, but nothing worked. After several days without the w/d or the d/w running (we couldn't even wash by hand, without doing it in the bathtub), I called Todd. He was able to come out the same day, and even come out in the evening (so my husband could tell him what he'd been trying and pouring down the drain).

He was able to come at 6 p.m., snaked a pipe (50 ft), and presto-whammo! No more floods in the garage. The best part? It was only $115. I don't think I've ever been so excited to write a check.

I'm going to be calling him for all my plumbing needs.

PS, I am sick with the flu and in the middle of law school finals, so I really can't emphasize how amazing he is -- I'm unnaturally grouchy right now, and he still made me really happy.

Called ""A-1"" to unclog our kitchen sink. Todd arrived in his cool van within five minutes of his promised time, knew exactly what to do. Since there was no ground-level cleanout, up on the roof to snake down the vent. Hard job, sixty feet plus and lots of hard work snaking through old cast iron pipes, but finally it was cleaned out. On the basis of this job, I'd say Todd is a good, reliable plumber and we'll call him again.
