What can I say Todd does excellent work and I plan on using him again in the future to help maintain my rental property in El Caljon. Why the two starts you ask, well. . . I setup an appointment for repair between 10-12 noon on monday.

At 12:30 I gave Todd a call, he said he was running late on a job. Ok I get it, but you need to call your customers if your going to be late. Anyhow he showed up at 1:20 and did complete the repair in a very professional manner.

But as the old saying goes timeliness matters. So unfortunately I have to deduct one star. But as far as the work outstanding, and the price was very fair.

We needed a pipe under our front lawn modified. I give Todd five stars in every category. He was here when we needed him. He was reasonably priced. He knew what he was doing. He was friendly and easy to work with. To say he was experienced and efficient would be an understatement. We truly appreciate him. It was such a good experience we are already working with him on a plan for some remodeling in our two bathrooms. I highly recommend this guy.

Called after finding a break in our water line to the house. Todd made it to our place by the afternoon and repaired the pipe so it should not have a problem in the future.
The leak occurred because it had not been installed properly. Todd made certain his repair would last.

The owner Todd came to fix my shower blockage. I was in a jam and needed a fix right away before my guests arrived. He was able to come over within the hour and help me out. He charged a little more than a big name company, but unlike this competitor who advertises to come out in 60 minutes, he actually did it. My problem was a little more complicated and he handled it, and he was kind not to up-charge me from his original quote. He'll have my repeat business.

I called Todd up on Sunday labor day weekend at 145 in the afternoon and he showed up with in 2 hours. Which was perfect because I was having some guests over for a barbecue .Not only did todd fix my draing problems he did it in a timely manner. Todd is exceptionally skilled with a snake. My husband (professional electrician) and I (professional painter) are very hands-on people, so we own our own $500.00 snake from Home Depot. Todd says it's crap, and maybe he's right, but it has saved us double or triple its cost over the last five years already! So, when we had a sewer line block at our rental property, we gave snaking a try, but we simply couldn't get the snake to go down the back-to-back toilet connection. We had another company (also on Yelp with 5 star average reviews) come try to snake the drain--you simply have to have a few plumbing contacts in case your favorites are already at work on someone else's emergency. That company spent 4 hours at our property at night, and couldn't get their snake to go down either. Then they told me that the reason they couldn't get their snake down was because the cast-iron mainline below the toilets was plugged and they would need to jackhammer at that spot. After 4 hours, they offered to leave without charging anything, which was awesome, but also suspicious. If they were sure of their assessment, why not offer to credit their work toward the repair? I sent them on their way.

I contacted Todd who successfully snaked this exact drain via this difficult back-to-back toilet drain a few years ago, so we knew he could do it again. He came out the next day and put his snake down on the first try. So, he is very, very skilled with a snake!

Todd found out that the block was NOT below the toilets but was about 50 feet away and was caused by wet wipes in the sewer main-line. Can you imagine if I had trusted the judgement of that other company and let them jackhammer in the house at the toilet drain?? I'm glad I trusted my instincts and sent them packing.

Unfortunately, the block was a soft block, so despite Todd's skills it could not be snaked from that location-- it needed the bigger snake. Todd informed us that this particular section of sewer pipe did not have an exterior clean-out, and he needed one to use his more powerful snake-- going through the toilet drain probably wouldn't work or could cause damage. So we authorized Todd to cut a hole in our driveway, find the sewer line and install a proper clean-out, and then snake the line. He started work that evening, and finished the next day. He charged $1,800.00 for all of his time, which included hours late at night. The full scope of the work completed is as follows: initial visit to snake the drain, discuss our options, jackhammer the concrete, dig out the pipe, install a two-way clean out, reroute a water line that was on top of the sewer pipe, back-fill the hole, compact the earth, re-seat the two toilets, and video the sewer line. Also, Todd's sewer videos are uploaded to YouTube for you to reference whenever you want.

Todd has the experience and know-how you need in a plumber and we will be calling him again. I prefer a contractor license, but you have to make your own decisions, and the company that spent 4 hours attempting to snake, and then incorrectly diagnosed the problem and recommended that I jackhammer inside the house for no absolutely reason was licensed (#986372)!!! Todd came out, was no-nonsense, works fast, immediately recognized those guys were idiots, and correctly identified our problem. Todd was able to quote a job simply by me describing what I needed and a few pictures. The plumbing location from the wall has not standard, the faucets we ordered were not typical and the vanity we purchased was not typical... yet, he made everything come together. This job was the third time I have hired A1 plumbing. The other two occasions were for drain snake services. Todd has been very fair, reliable and quick when I have requested services. If you want a job completed quickly and fairly, Todd is your guy. Don't expect a polo shirt tucked in white glove service. Expect a guy who is coming to get stuff done.

I love this guy! He is no nonsense - just get it done. We have a 1958 house with cast iron plumbing. The shower drain started running slow, so I called a big chain company to clear it. They tried but were unsuccessful. Their suggestion was to jackhammer the floor in my bathroom to replace some of the pipes to the tune of $3500.

I called our friends that have an older home nearby and asked them if they had a referral. Thank God they recommended A-1. Todd came out and knew instantly what to do. We gave him permission to open up the wall to access the vent. Cut a hole in it, snake in, drain cleared! Twenty minutes.

Now we will put an access panel in the wall because for sure there will be a next time!

Todd is an old-school problem solver with a work ethic that is hard to find these days. Thank goodness he's here.
