A-1 Oil Tank Removal

Steve and his crew removed my mother's oil tank yesterday. He came to the house beforehand to take a sample before quoting the job. None of the other 3 contractors I called did this. They showed up on time and in 4 hours all the work was done and the driveway hole was filled in. Very pleasant to deal with and the price was reasonable. The driveway was left clean. I would recommend them highly.

Outstanding work. Steve is an artist with a backhoe, he could probably build model planes with that thing. We had resigned ourselves to losing a dogwood tree that was too close to the underground oil tank he was removing, but Steve carefully laid it to the side, covered the roots with dirt, and then RE-PLANTED it when he was done.

Steve and his team just took out an ""abandoned in place"" tank from our back yard. It turned out to be a massive 1000 gallon tank between the edge of the driveway and the house. They surgically removed it with very little impact to the driveway. It was a bear of a tank to get out and took much longer than a usual tank extraction. Steve and his team are amazing people, very professional, and incredibly skilled with their equipment. It was like watching surgery with a back hoe. They filled the hole and packed it very well to avoid future settling. They cleaned up the driveway and left the area spotless. You can't go wrong with these guys.

When selling my home in Glen Ridge, it was discovered that there was a long-abandoned oil tank under my current deck on my property. After reaching out to a couple of vendors, I selected A-1 based on the fact that Steve, the owner, got back to me right away and came on site to inspect the area the oil tank was in. Steve was prompt and efficient in getting a permit from the town, and scheduling the oil tank removal within a short period of time. Town officials had worked with Steve and A-1 Tank Removal in the past, and shared their positive experiences with him at being conscientious in obtaining permits in a timely manner. On the day of the tank removal, Steve personally operated the machinery himself and was extremely careful not to do any damage (which he didn't) to fencing and decking close by the excavation site. When the tank was finally uncovered, it turned out to be a 2,000 gallon tank! Once again, Steve had an excellent relationship with the tank inspector, who immediately came on site, conferred with Steve, and verified there was no leakage of any kind. Within a couple of hours the tank was removed, carted away, and Steve and his crew carefully attended to cleaning up the excavation site. An all-around excellent experience, pricing was reasonable, the quality of work exceptional, and the entire process was expedient. I highly recommend A-1 to anyone looking to remove an oil tank, you will be working with a consummate professional with Steve, the owner.

In the process of selling my home, I found out that I had an underground oil tank which was decommissioned 16 years prior. Finding this out just added to the stress of selling! I obtained approx 6 estimates and then went to look at the work done. The few I saw were a nightmare. Lawns, schrubs, driveways torn apart. Then A-1 was recommended. First off, the owner has the most calming voice and explains everything. He promised me that he would only disturb the area he worked in, put plywood under his machines, protected my driveway and schrubs and would clean up. He was true to his word on everything! The owner himself operated the machine with precision! He dug in a straight line and then carefully lifted the tank out of the ground so he wouldn't damage it! When they were done, I happened to look out to see them sweeping my driveway and the street with a broom! That was excellent careful work! I highly recommended A-1!

i was extremely impresses with A1 and would recomend them to anyone in need. My tank needed to be pulled from my property before I could sell my house. Unfortunately I had no idea of this beforehand and the team there was great at explaining the steps I needed to take. This company is not currently and has not done any work for me directly, but I recently interacted with them for a remediation for a mutual client and the quality and effort of service compelled me to write a positive review so that they might get more business. After accuracy, fair dealing and honesty, responsiveness is next on the list of most important factors in dealing with an environmental company where deadlines often matter. Every time I reach out to A-1 I get a returned phone call by the man in charge, Steve, before the end of the day when he comes back in to the office after field work. He is honest and goes out of his way to give realistic expectations. I have been a pain, a real pest, to ensure that a job is done faster than normal to meet a deadline, and A-1 has done everything to keep me informed step by step.

As for the work - from what I was told the price was fair and it was done professionally and quickly.
