I began my career in the 1970s and have worked for only a few employers. I began with a family-owned company under Bruce Campbell in Laguna Beach, a smart man who started a plumbing training program in 1933; I gained valuable knowledge from him. Next, I shifted to commercial construction while pursuing business law at UC Irvine. I loved building so much that I never turned back.

Eventually, I went back to Kansas and spent several years working for the president of PHCC. I then relocated to Lake Lotawana, near Blue Springs, MO, where I worked for Frank Stasy, another PHCC member. It was in that period that I met my wife; we married and relocated back to California, where she was originally from. I subsequently worked for George Brazil, who was the president of the National PHCC. After their sale to consolidators, I took the leap to start my own business and have never looked back. It has been a fulfilling journey.
