Very professional and affordable. The dispatcher was very friendly and worked around my schedule, and promptly contacted me when the plumber was on his way. Steve explained everything in detail and had the repair done in a matter of minutes. Will definitively call on them again!

Reasonably priced compared to their competition and the service always friendly and professional. On last call they said they'd show between 1 & 4 pm and showed right at 4 pm but they gave me calls 3 times letting me know they would be running late and giving me updates every 30 minutes. I've used A-1 three times over the past few years to clean out my drains, and I've been satisfied with their service and price every time. Mahalo Keone, great work!

Called a day in advance to schedule replacing a laundry sink drain. Given a 4-hour show up window time by Jackie who answered the call and introduced herself as the operations manager. After waiting out near the end of the 4 hours, finally got a call from Jackie. Told that they can't honor my appointment. Claimed to have been delayed by the last job that took longer than expected. If it is a one-man/crew operation, it would be more credible excuse. The video on their website claims to have 17 crews working for them. Sounds like they will squeeze in more jobs even if means bumping off customers who had been previously promised appointment time. Getting bumped may be understandable. Getting a lame excuse really breaks the trust factor for me. Never will use them again.

Just had Josh of A1Budget Plumbing come buy and I must say, he was wonderful and thorough with the work he did. He actually came and fixed a job that another plumber had originally started on and clearly either had no idea how to do the job or was to lazy to really even try (Mind you, the other company came in twice for the same issue with 2 guys on each trip). Josh came and did the job by himself, using a camera to find a leak from upstairs shower into my kitchen ceiling below. He listened to what I had to say about what was happening and actually looked into it . I highly recommend A1 Budget Plumbing

The best in Kailua. Main sewer line clog was cleared in 1 hour with no mess or drama. Reasonable Sunday rate was less than $200. Best value, service and support in town.

Had them come out to look at my yard and not only did they get the diagnosis wrong (they said there was a leak when no leak existed), they charged me for 4 man-hours of work while doing absolutely nothing! Keep in mind, the patch of lawn they spent 4 man-hours looking at is about 100ft long by 10ft wide. Bottom line is this. If you live on the west side of Oahu, be ready to pay a steep fee for relatively little work. Essentially, I paid $400 for an incorrect diagnosis and a road trip from Kailua to Kapolei. At least have the decency to itemize travel time on the invoice you give customers so they know what they are paying for. I will never use this company again and I plan on telling all the folks in my neighborhood about my experience.

Definitely not ""budget"". They spent 5hrs!!!!!!! Snaking a drain?.. Seriously ? Wouldn't have been that bad is they didn't charge for the whole 5hrs..but they did and the problem wasn't even fixed... When we called to ask for more info/ask why the bill was so high, the lady was just not being helpful... Probably understandable if you don't know how to deal with unsatisfied customers.... But there wasn't even any follow up since we asked to have the person that was charging those hours to call us back or at least some that would be able to justify the hours charged... VERY VERY POOR customer service. I guess some people were satisfied but a bunch were not ..... You decide

We came home and found a leak. I was skeptical about the 4 star rating. A-1 was suggested to us and they didn't disappoint. First off the leak was difficult to find because of the way the pin hole was leading the water. Manu did his best and was able to find and repair the leak quickly. Understand that the leak was in the ceiling and no one wants multiple holes cut into their ceiling. Manu was able to track it down with minimal damage to the ceiling. Thank A-1 and Manu for an awesome job. To anybody else looking for a plumber don't let the low star ratings discourage you from using this company, take it with a grain of salt. My experience was great and I would go back to them if I need more work.

If I had posted this the first day I had used this plumbing company, it would have been five stars. My shower was backing up and I call A1 on a Monday and they could come out Tuesday. The guy who came out, Glenn, was competent and nice. Fixed the problem, so I was thinking about writing a positive Yelp review. I had another smaller job for the following day. Again, they only could give me a three hour window. I took off from work and waited for the plumber to come. And waited. My window was from 2 to 5 pm. At 4:10, I gave the dispatcher a call, and she told me that the plumber was already in my area, and that I would be next. So I waited. And waited. Finally, at 5:30, half an hour after my window, I called the dispatcher back, and asked when the plumber would be coming. She told me that she ""had just gotten off the phone with the plumber,"" and he would not be able to make it that day. I was upset because I had taken off work to wait. I asked her why she didn't tell me he might be running late, especially when I had called her and she knew I was still waiting. I got a very wooden apology. I think this is unacceptable. The plumber should have reported his time issues WAY earlier to the dispatcher, and the dispatcher should have checked with the plumber way before half an hour AFTER the window ended. My Yelp review was sliding toward the bottom of the scale. Another plumber came the next morning, and he was friendly and helpful, so my Yelp review started to trend upward a little. He needed to order a part, so told me they would call me when it was in. A few days later, I got a call that the part was in, and they scheduled me to have it installed the following Friday afternoon. About midway through my three-hour time slot, I got a call from them, asking if they could reschedule because they were running late. I told them that I really needed the part installed, and that it would probably only take about 20 minutes (based on the time it had taken the plumber at the previous visit). The dispatcher was obviously not happy, and tried to talk me into rescheduling - but they don't work weekends, so they wouldn't have come until Monday. I reiterated that it wouldn't take long and that I would like it fixed today. A plumber did show up in the late afternoon and promptly installed the part. So my feelings about A-1 Budget Plumbing are mixed. I had some good and bad experiences, and it seems from previous reviews that the last minute cancellation is sometimes a real problem for them. If someone does come, however, the work is done professionally and well. So, mixed bag.
