A-1 was referred to us by our building manager. We needed someone that was willing to work in condos due to the liability concern. They performed a simple valve stem and tub spout replacement. No big deal. First time out, they charged us for what seemed to be an inspection. Basically telling us we needed to order a part. Nothing was fixed but nothing could be fixed. I wish plumbing companies don't charge for things like this. Second time out, they replaced the valve stem and spout. After the plumber left I noticed two things... The water wasn't hot enough in the shower and the caulk between the tub spout and tile was separating. Yes like swiss cheese. What this told me was that the valve wasn't adjusted right and the spout pipe wasn't cut far enough back - there was too large of a gap, which was the initial problem before the plumber came out the first time. The plumber should have verified the sink water temperature or let me know how to adjust the valve. We were charged for the work and honestly, we were over charged the labor time (1.25 hours vs actual 1 hour). Don't understand how that works. Third times the charm. Different plumber from A-1 came back and corrected both issues at no extra charge. I commend A-1 for standing by their work and correcting the issue. To me, that's what makes companies stand out, their customer service. It was a little bit of a hassle to have to take off of work twice in order to meet them at the apartment. But I appreciate their scheduler calling to let me know updates on when the plumber would arrive. Overall, I would use them again and recommend to others.

If you look through the photos people posted on the A1 Yelp age, you see the photo of the guy in front of the green A1 van - thats Andrew. Believe me - Ask for Andrew. Andrew came to my house a couple weeks back to install a few shower heads and fix a leaking toilet. He was efficient, professional, polite, and just did a great job. And he's a Kailua-Boy! Today, as I type this, Andrew is now downstairs installing a new water line for my refrigerator. While doing so, he noticed that my kitchen sink was leaking and suggested he could fix it, on the spot. Other Yelp'ers are correct - A1 is not super cheap - but its been my experience so far that the work is done correctly, so I have a good feeling of trust that my money is well-spent.

Absolutely recommend! My toilet was clogged and called a plumber 5 days later, I was still waiting for him to show up. Gave up on him, and my friend recommended A-1 Budget because he used them previously for his house and for his father's condo. Fast to respond and cheap and friendly and large staff to send out. Sure enough, office was very friendly and sent Stephen in a couple of hours. Stephen was friendly, sized up the problem immediately as chicken grease from my kitchen sink and snaked it in just a few minutes. Total chargeL $114. A bargain!! (I had previously used a friend/plumber and he charged me $1000 for a kitchen sink snake job.) A week later, my shower basin backed up. My experience with A-! was so positive, I called them again. Within an hour, Daniel showed up. Equally friendly and pleasant, and also immediately sized up the problem as chicken grease again from my kitchen sink. Snaked it again, but deeper this time, and presto, clog cleared. Charge was less than $25 (time charge) because it was a second call-back to the same problem. A bargain once again!! Absolutely recommend! Large staff of plumbers, fast response, no travel time charges, bargain pricing on time charges, and the plumbers are all friendly, pleasant, knowledgable and communicate what they identify as the problem and what they will be doing to solve it, and offer suggestions on how to keep the problem from recurring. Great!

Reasonably priced compared to their competition and the service always friendly and professional. On last call they said they'd show between 1 & 4 pm and showed right at 4 pm but they gave me calls 3 times letting me know they would be running late and giving me updates every 30 minutes. I've used A-1 three times over the past few years to clean out my drains, and I've been satisfied with their service and price every time. Mahalo Keone, great work!

A1 did an install on October 16, 2014. They overprice small parts as if they need the extra money besides charging $90/hour. They forgot to bring a piece and the installer told me that there would not be an extra charge to come back out to complete the dishwasher install. On October 17, 2014 when I called the office they acted like a bully and told me that I would have to pay for another installer plus parts. I will never deal with this company again. They are for profit and not pro customer.

disappointed I have 7 stores needing hot water heaters installed and they refused to do an estimate on 7 guaranteed costly installs and refused to install our supplied top of the line heaters . They only install what they provide. Would not use them in any commercial retail sight ever !!! they just lost well over 100, 000.00 for not even thinking about it. oh well .

* Prompt. * Not cheap, but seems reasonable and I don't feel swindled. * Would recommend to others and intend on using them in the future. I'm clueless when it comes to plumbing and can't properly describe our problem/fix but...our house's plumbing system seems to be all CPVC piping? instead of say, copper...so after 15 years we come in to remodel the home only to constantly burst pipes by lightly tapping them once we're in the wall. Usually it's something boyfriend can fix, but this last time we realized was a more complicated fix. I had no choice but to bite the bullet and call the professionals. It was pretty late and I just wanted to get to sleep so I scheduled them for the next morning. I was told between 10-1 @ $98/hr to come out to Ewa on a Saturday. Price is high but I felt was reasonable; and I expected them to show up closer to 1, dreading spending all day without water. Around 11am the plumber showed up (didn't get a name, but yay for coming before the deadline), he took about half an hour to assess the situation and left to get parts. According to our invoice: ""Replaced broken CPVC pipe in downstairs bathroom ceiling and ran new copper with two tee's going to the upstairs vanity sink and then one running to the upstairs toilet supply line. Tested okay."" He was here for a few hours going through the floor/ceiling and ended up replacing more than we expected (in a good way, we'd rather have copper). This leaves me feeling a little more relieved so we don't have to deal with any more plumbing issues. We got our invoice and I was expecting around $700-$800, but it came out to about $480. The invoice was well detailed, and the plumber was quick & professional.

The night before Hurricane Iselle was due to hit my toilet decided to leak. Bad timing! But A-1 Budget Plumbing had someone at my door within an hour of my call and the problem was fixed within another hour. Fortunately, replacing the wax ring was all that was required. The price was fair, especially considering it was an after hours call. I was more than happy with the work, the speed, and the price.

On a Sunday afternoon my sink began to leak and overflow. After placing about 10 towels on the floor to absorb the liquid, I called numerous plumbing companies to receive a quote. None of the agencies responded, except for Roto-Rooter, which replied by giving me an appointment for the following day. I kept digging for a plumber, and A-1 Budget came up on Yelp as the only open business. The dispatcher said they would be able to come immediately (within the hour). As promised, I received a call from Joe shortly thereafter. Joe was professional, personable, prepared and willing to conduct his business in a timely manner. He wrestled with identifying the problem, discussing my options, and resolving the issue (common drain line plug). Finally, after about 2.5 hours of clearing the drain and cleaning up a second pool of waste from the sink, Joe had finally cleared the line and both me and my neighboring unit were clear to drain our sinks. Overall, A-1 Plumbing provided an excellent response time to my residence, and resolved a hairy issue when other companies would not respond.
