Total trash company.
Didn't fix my issues, but claim everything is fixed. Later charged me for services not rendered!

Run! Run at all cost!

This is the least professional business I have ever worked with. I was assigned these guys through American Home Shield and decided I might as well give them a shot. Here is what you need to do if AHS assigns you these plumbers:

1) Call AHS, talk to a human, and ask for a new plumber. When they ask why, tell them it's because the plumbers were not available when you needed them to be.

2) AHS will give you a list of plumbers they can assign you. Take a look at the reviews and see who has good reviews. Tell AHS you want to work with them.

3) Congratulations! Your plumbing work might actually get done by a professional business

I was referred to this company through American Home Shield. I had a small drip/leak in my kitchen faucet. By the end of my appointment the technician broke my kitchen faucet and now I have no running water at all. I spoke with Rosa the office supervisor and she tried to claim the faucet was not working when they got to my home which was completely false. Terrible customer service.

Horrible company. If you get matched with them from American Home Shield, may as well find a local plumber or use Thumbtack. It seems like all they care about is getting as much money from you and expensing it to the home insurance. The guy who came to diagnose the problem came extremely late and wasn't professional. Unlike other plumbers, he didn't come with shoe coverings. For 2 clogged sinks, he said it'll be almost $800 to replace 2 p trap. Ridiculous. I called two other plumbers to look at the problem and to snake and replace both sinks, at most it was $300. American home shield and Phoenix plumbing wouldn't budge on price and won't move forward with me authorizing $800. I wasted $85 and an hour of my time for this guy to do nothing

This company is horrible. If you see
There name, keep looking. I had them fix a valve on my faucet. They charged me $100 sent two technicians who finished in 20 minutes. The fix worked for 2 months and the same problem occurred again. I called them back and they told me I would have to pay another $100 because the work was only guaranteed for 30 days. They were sent to me through American Home Shield Warranty. Never use AHS. Their subcontractors are garbage. I will NOT be renewing my annual contract with them. American Home Shield only cares about taking your money. Their quality and customer service is horrible. The people who rated this company with more than 1 star are family members or getting paid to give positive reviews. This company should NOT be allowed to work anywhere. . American Home
Shield should also be closed down in California.

NOTE: My profile shows Oakland, but we recently moved to Pleasant Hill where the situation chronicled in this review occurred.

Recently we had a service call from A-1 Phoenix Plumbing that was set up through our home warranty company, American Home Shield (AHS). The visit was a disaster from start to finish.

We had a problem with our shower faucet for which a plumber from A-1 Phoenix identified the problem as a bad faucet valve that needed replacing. He also said that we had old galvanized plumbing throughout the master bathroom as well as in our second bathroom (which didn't make any sense to us, given that we knew we had copper piping throughout the rest of the house). In an apparent attempt to coerce us into accepting a repiping job, the plumber went so far as to warn us of the skin problems we would experience from the ""hard water in the galvanized pipes"" if the pipes weren't replaced right away.

After he completed the diagnostic we were informed that the cost of the valve replacement and repiping would be over $3,200 of which AHS would reimburse us $540 (note that the actual final price of the full job changed several times during the conversation, each time going up significantly in cost). We were also informed that they would have to damage walls to access the pipes for which we would be responsible for finding and paying for someone to repair the damaged sheet rock.

We obviously decided to get a second opinion and found that our shower valve only needed a couple of inexpensive parts with the repair bill being less than $150. And not surprisingly, they also verified that we have complete copper piping throughout our entire house.

AHS has been equally as frustrating to deal with as we attempted to get our $85 service initiator fee reimbursed due to the incompetent and misleading experience with A-1 Phoenix. Repeated calls to the only telephone number the company lists (which connects you to a call center in the Caribbean) left us even more frustrated as promises kept being made that a supervising manager would contact us within 24 hours -- and, of course, no return calls were ever made over several days even though multiple requests had been formally made.

Reading other reviews about A-1 Phoenix Plumbing show similar experiences and frustration by respondents, with the majority of the problematic service calls initiated from referrals by American Home Shield.

This company was recommended by American Home Warranty for the 2nd time in two years. The guy came after 2 weeks to look at my running water in my WC and said he does not have the part. Said he will be back. Came after two weeks and said it was fixed and when we went upstairs to check, it was sane as before....running even faster than before. Called them up several times with no response. They even told the insurance company that it was fixed. I called American warranty and complained to them. No response again! Then wrote an e mail to American Warranty and again no response. After waiting for over 40 mins, American warranty picked up the phone. I was told too time has passed and the ticket is closed. Anyways, after stressing vehemently, they agreed to send someone else as A-1 Aid plumbing was very busy and not taking any more jobs for sometime. A company that should be OUT off business is more busy than 5 stars Plumbing companies? I fail to understand. Avoid this company please!

I am a renter - for home service issues I must go through a management company. Usually all their contractors are spot on, fast, efficient. Not this company

Had a bum disposal - leaking through the bottom under the sink. I knew that was the issue. They came a week ago Thursday ( after reporting the problem
A week before ) and confirmed what I thought - need a new disposal. They said they didn't have one On their truck and someone would contact me. I called a couple times this week to find out what's going on. Management company located another plumbing company this morning - 1 full week after a week of silence from A1. The new company called back right away, came this afternoon with a disposal in hand ( had multiple units on hand ) and took care of everything.

This is the WORST plumbing company I have ever experienced. They were assigned to us through First American Home Warranty. They came and assessed our kitchen faucet. Through our coverage, we are only entitled to a replacement of the a basic model so we agreed to pay the difference to A-1 Plumbing for a more expensive model. HOWEVER, A1 Plumbing took our Moen faucet (worth $450) and replaced it with an Appaso faucet (worth $80!!!) and charged us $150. Unfortunately, we didn't notice until the employee left our home.

And to no surprise, the Appaso faucet DOES NOT WORK. We asked for our Moen sink back and they claim they tossed it in the trash. I am livid. Pure incompetence, which is clear from their already 2 star rating. Stay away.
