Assigned by American Home Shield to fix my water heater. First time they came out they said a part is needed and then returned two weeks later. It was not fixed and they returned again and declared it can't be fixed. Said talk to home warranty company for a replacement. However, they were supposed to send a report before the home warranty would talk to me. For almost 2 months they were reminded by me and the home warranty to send the report but they never would. In the meantime I was out of a water heater. This is the most incompetent plumbing company that I have ever had to deal with. In fact I have never had this kind of experience with any repair contractor. I hope there is a way to NOT get them assigned by my home warranty for any future plumbing issue.

Like others I was sent this company by my home warranty company American Home Shield. The workmen who arrived were not professional and did not identify themselves properly. When I asked them if they were licensed plumbers they rudely responded that they were ""with the company"". Diagnosis of a defective water heater consisted of nothing more than the workman trying to light the pilot which I had already tried repeatedly before calling for service. Workman said he had to get a new part and someone would call to schedule. No documentation or anything was left.
Overall very poor attitude by the workmen.
When I called AHS to request another tech I was told that I would have to pay the call fee again. No thanks.
Some advice to others (this is my first experience with AHS). Check the rating of the business immediately after AHS assigns a contractor and if the ratings are poor, request another business before the visit to avoid paying a 2nd fee.

Fidelity had them come to the house due to
Water leaking and but person didn't want to go to the crawl space to check it. And because of that he told fidelity it was outside of warranty.
Instead he offered to fix it on the side (outside of the company). He offered to access it by breaking through the stucco wall on the outside of the house rather then just replacing the leaking pipe in the crawl space.
So called farmers to see if it's covered on home owners insurance. They sent someone free of charge. They went to the crawl space and identified it was just a leaking pipe and that a plumber needed to fix it.
Called fidelity again and they send this company back. Again they did not look at it in the crawl space and just took my word for it. He left saying they would provide me with an estimate to fix. No estimate was provided.
Can't be trusted. Unreliable. Useless. I would not trust this company to do any work or estimate on your home. I don't think they know what they are doing.

Came in through my awful home warranty company just to install a faucet which I personally ordered through replacement parts through Grohe from and then changed their phone number. Just changed their phone number so when I called them back to make an appt to install which they had earlier promised,
I get a voicemail which says: the phone number you've been reached has been changed. New number unknown'
What a waste of time.

If I could I would give these guys 0 stars.
I could have gone by all the earlier bad reviews and avoided the service from them.
But I tried to give them a chance when my home warranty (ahs) provided an immediate appointment with them(that's one indication that these guys are already out of work current busy days).
These guys came to check my wobbling and leaking toilet from the wax seal.
They just flushed the toilet couple of times and outright rejected to change the wax seal saying that there is no water seen. There are clear marks under the toilet that it's happening over time. They just tightened the nuts to stop the wobbling which a kid could do that and left.
These people are liars and they look for ways how to reject the job to be done.
Also, note there is no way to contact them. All the phone numbers listed out there are all wrong.
Avoid them.

Assigned by first American home warranty. Just poor service. Reschedule appointments last minute. Phone calls not being returned. Felt I was over charged. Water Damage to my walls due to them not being timely with repairs. Just not right...

Be careful of this company. They might be cheaper than what you can find-but you'll spend more after they are long gone. They are unreliable and very unprofessional. They delayed the project by 3 months. Excuses and blaming why permits weren't being issued or parts not being available. We FAILED inspection 3 times, yes! 3 times! How? you say? They used the wrong kind of PVC to hook the water and sewer lines. We've smelled gas on and off after the project was complete. PG&E has been over a few times. PG&E found a gas leak outside where the plumbers hooked into the main gas line. The smell of gas was still noticeable. PG&E came out again and found a gas leak in the walls!
Another company is fixing the issues, now costing more money.
You are probably asking yourself why did we let this go on. We couldn't fire them because the contractor who is also shady hired them and wouldn't allow a refund on the plumber portion.
Kick yourself if after reading this and the others' posts if you still want their business. Let it be known you've been warned.

Came from home warranty. Inspected for maybe 3 minutes and left. Reported no issue to the home warranty company. Different company came, found and fixed a leak the following weekend.

If you could rate a company lower than.1 star I would From the tech to the front office is a joke of miscommunication, lies and just don't give a damn ,t I think American home shield either owns A-1 OR IS HEAVILY in vested in the company thats why with all these complaints they still do business with them .And willnot send you to another company A-1 is a garbage company and, should not be in business .. this is my second dealing with these company the first fix took three months to change shower valve . Need I say more ...

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Additionally, I would recommend that any American Home Shield (AHS) warranty customers to request another plumbing vendor if this company is assigned to them. These people are so rude and unorganized.
The short - A-1 Aid was assigned to my service request through AHS. I received an appointment confirmation for a specific day and time. Two men showed up at my house while I was in working from home (meeting) outside of the time window scheduled. I was unable to have the service completed at that time, which I explained to the guys to which they responded, ""So, what do you want us do?""
They also argued with me about the scheduled time and totally disregarded that I showed them the text with the confirmed time. They did apologize for the error or offer to come back during their scheduled time. They just simply left.
I called AHS after I finished my meeting and explained the issue. They actually tried to charge me again to have them come back out. They weren't considering that they came at the wrong time and I was unable to accommodate them. AHS is on notice....I DID NOT want this company to provide me service at all after the service that I received, but in order to avoid a new charge, I agreed to have them come back at another time. According to AHS, A-1 is going to call me and reschedule the appointment - no word from A-1 yet. Honestly, I do not want anyone from this company to enter my house.
While I was speaking to AHS, I decided to check the reviews for A-1. I wasn't shocked to learn that their reviews were awlful in the Google community and Yelp.
