Recommended Customer Reviews

They were went to our rental house by American Home Shield to find a leak that our tenant could hear but couldn't find. The technician changed something in the toilet, but they could still hear the leak. The technician then turned off the main water control and detected no loss in water pressure so he said there was no leak. However he admitted that when he went back to the bathroom he could hear a leak. Despite that, he wrote that there was no leak and closed the claim. I called AHS and asked that the claim be reopened. A-1 Aid then sent out a different technician who found the leak right away under the house and said he did not the first person did not find it. He said the leak was caused by the fact that the copper pipes were held in place by metal instead of plastic, the pipes had corroded causing the leak. However, even though he said the leak was caused by corrosion, he REFUSED to say it was through wear and tear, which does not make sense to me. The pipes were 40 years old. As a result, AHS refused to cover the repair, and I had to pay A-1 Aid $385 for the repair. Then, despite promising me an invoice to document the repair, it took almost a month and three phone calls to pry an invoice out of them to document the repair. I am most ticked off about the fact that the first technician couldn't find a leak he would have found if he had bothered to check under the house and the fact that the second technician said that a leak caused by corrosion in 40 year old pipes was not due to wear and tear.

I normally don't leave reviews but this time I had to make an exception. This is by far the worst experience I've ever witnessed and I've been around the block. From the plumbers to the office, they have no customer service and flat out lie to your face. They don't keep appointment windows and don't complete job's ontime and based on the specifications. There was no redeeming quality I could find, and trust me, I tried. Avoid at all cost to keep your sanity.

I would be very cautious using this company. The only reason that I contacted them was because they were assigned by my home warranty company.
I had three items that I needed to fix. A slow draining sink due to a damaged P-trap, a toilet that wouldn't flush completely, and a leak on my water heater shut off valve.
I dont know why, but the company was so quick to dismiss the problem and didn't want to do anything to fix it. The first two issues (slow draining sink, and toilet that wouldn't flush) the technician spent 2 minutes running a snake, that did nothing, and then tried to convince me that the problem was fixed as we both watched both the sink & toilet bubble up with water. With the water heater, he wanted nothing to do with it because of a technicality regarding the home warranty paperwork.
The final straw was when I contacted the office to try to get some help, the customer service rep told me that my problem was 'between me and the technician'. The office & customer support act as if they have no idea what is going on with the technicians and literally act like they are an entirely different company.
The company has recently changed names, likely due to horrible reviews from their prior name. I do not recommend working with this company.

We had Alex come out and fix a leak we had with our pedestal bathtub.
The first company that came our home warranty sent out said they wouldn't touch our job until we had all the tile around the pipes removed. So we asked for a second opinion and they sent us A-1. I will say that communication with the office was not easy and they did cancel once because they said someone was sick, the first two guys they sent out said they had to talk to their supervisor to see about how to fix this. I had to follow up twice with the office and was told a few different stories. In the end we did wait several days for them to get their act together and get in touch with their supervisor. I was frustrated, but in the end and they sent Alex who said he thought he could fix this without damaging any tile and he was right! He did an amazing job! I highly recommend Alex especially for the difficult leaks!

A-1 plumbing was sent by my home fidelity insurance
After waiting two days to fix clogged kitchen sink.
He comes in take a look and tell me all piping has to be replaced keep in mind my house is three years old
As it was built new and upto code. He wanted to cut concrete slab in order to fix the problem.
I became suspicious as he didn't even check the trap
Or garbage disposable or any diagnostics.
Had to get a plumber on my own and he fixed the problem with a snake. A-1 plumbing said there is no place to insert the snake!!!!

I was connected with A-1 aid plumbing through my Home Warranty contract. I had hot water pressure issue in my shower. Alex the technician was able to resolve it and now it is like a waterfall! Thank you

I was hoping I'd have a different experience from all the negative reviews. I was wrong. My home warranty assigned me to A1 plumbing to fix a leaky faucet/sink. I had so many interactions with these guys, from the operator/dispatcher, to the plumber, just when I thought it couldn't get worse - it did.
Teresa has had to reschedule on me three times, all due to lack of organization/communication on her part. One of these times, Teresa forgot to call to inform me that a plumber called in sick that morning (I only found out after I called near the end of the expected window), then that same day got me mixed up with someone else and didn't actually reschedule me. She went on to blame ME for her mistakes, actually yelling at me. Keep in mind, it's been two weeks since their last plumber inspected the leak, and there has been SO much water wasted during this time. When I asked to speak to her manager, she doubled down and lied that she was the only manager. Unfortunately, I'm desperate to fix this issue because starting the process over again would mean pushing out this timeline another week or two.
I do feel bad that they're all probably grossly underpaid and overworked - but, even more reason to choose an alternative. Save yourself the headache and lost sleep and ask for another contractor.

Had A-1 Aid Plumbing come out and look into both my water heater
and shower valve issue. Luis with A-1 diagnosed the issues and fix
in a timely manor. Very grateful this was taken care of in 1 visit.
Thanks again Luis for the help!!!

Apparently, my experience was not uncommon for A-1 Aid Plumbing. They were the assigned contractor through American Home Shield. The person I spoke to in order to schedule an appointment had major attitude right off the bat because I asked if they had any same day appointments. When I later called for an update, the office person was condescending and didn't care that my water was shut up, nor that the tech hadn't given a report yet.
When the contractor came out the next day, he said he needed approval to fix the shower. I expected him to receive approval the same day since he called it an ""emergency"" since my water has been shut off for about a week at this point. It has been more than 24 hours since he came to my home and AHS still doesn't have a report.
I feel like this place is a scam - they go to as many appointments as they can, without doing the work, simply so that they can get paid by the home warranty companies.

I got this plumber through First American warranty. I requested clearly that they tell me if the warranty covers the item before they come. They sure ignored that, didn't bother to call me. Then when they got in, the first thing they try to do was start to look for reasons for not covering by the warranty. They first told me that the valve is for a pool system and it is not covered. Then I told them I paid extra for the pool coverage. They then told the warranty company that it is not in my house, so it is not covered. But that's a flat lie. The valve is perfectly located in a room that shares the roof with the main house, has walls and doors. It is not a shed. Plus, the pool coverage did not require everything to be inside a house. Eventually they said that it is a particular type of valve that is not covered. This is absurd. Do we as a consumer have to know every type of valve/pipe to make sure it is covered or not? That's just cheating every way they can. Don't waste your time with them.
