The owner Sidney is a fraud and does shoddy work, at best. He tore my home apart and left my project incomplete during last Thanksgiving. My kitchen sink was taken out and never put back. This is how we had to spend our Thanksgiving last year. He also tried setting the new shower pan he was installing in concrete with chunks of rock in it, even while his worker Jerry kept insisting that he needed to use mortar and not concrete. Not to mention he tells nothing but lies.

Please, do yourself a favor and save your money to hire an honest contractor that knows what he is doing.

I have a duplex in Sacramento. I had a plumber come out and charge me $400 and did not resolve the problem but Sid came out promptly and resolved it for a reasonable price. Thanks Sid

These guys are on TOP of things! The day I approved the bid, they pulled permits and did a great job very quickly. They insist on doing things right, which is important to me. I'll hire them again for sure.

Nothing but good reviews for the 5th Generation Plumbing crew. Especially want to give a shout out to Jerry and Ron who spent a lot of time under our house doing a complete repipe, water and waste. Jerry fixed a lot of pipes and vents in our 65 year old house which has never had better water pressure and the sinks and showers have never drained as well as they do now. They also kept the house as clean as possible during this three week job. Any problems were taken care of right away and they graciously worked around my health care issues. Nice job you guys.

I was surprised when I came on Yelp and saw bad reviews. But then usually people who are happy don't post, only the unhappy ones. We first found this company through Angie's list and are so happy we called them. They have been to our house 3 times and every time the work has been excellent! Last Sunday night as we were going to bed we heard water running. Looking around we discovered the valve that feeds the water into the house was spurting water and looked like a water fountain. My husband had to go out at midnight and shut the water off at the main.
Monday morning we called 5th Generation and when he came by Monday afternoon to assess the problem Sid was able to fix it on the spot. Aah, running water again! They charge reasonable rates, even coming out on Saturdays. Sid and Jerry are both master plumbers and Christie in the office is great! I trust them and will not call anyone else.

Hired 5th Generation Plumbing in January 2018 to replace a drain line, water heater, water softener and pretty much replace all of the 60 year old galvanized lines. That was the first mistake.
His two plumbers literally spent days under the house. They were doing a nice job. At about day 4, the owner Sid was thinking things were progressing too slowly and would verbally berate his guys in front of me. Then the no-shows started. He apparently started another job before finishing mine. One, two, three days of not showing. After the 3rd no-show, I finally told him I would pay for work performed and find someone else to finish the job. He texted me at 6:00 that night and said his guys got tied up on a job and were headed over to work. I said no, you're not coming this late and can come tomorrow. Second mistake, not cutting ties as threatened.
Over the next couple of days, they pretty much pieced together the remaining work when they could fit it in. Except for one bathroom, which leads to the third and biggest mistake. My two bathrooms are back to back. I sacrificed the oldest one to have access to shower and bath piping and controls. Since the shower was now torn out, I decided to gut it and do a full remodel.
Here is my third mistake - having a conscience and assuming Sid did too. I knew it would be 6 months at best to get the bathroom put back together. I didn't feel it was right for me to withhold payment because he wasn't able to finish the work because I wasn't ready for him to do it. See the problem here? So, against everyone's advice, I paid him in full with the understanding that when the bathroom was done, he would come and complete it. After all, it is only probably 2 to 3 hours work for someone who knows what they are doing, why would he try to hose me on that?
Fast forward to now - bathroom is ready to go! I had been calling Sid with updates every couple of months letting him know the progress and that I was still working on it. Okay, just let him know, he says. Unfortunately, it took much longer than planned, but that doesn't make it any less paid for. I called NUMEROUS times telling him I was ready to have it completed and when can it be done? ""Uh....I don't really remember, I will have to find the invoice, let me call you back"". Then he couldn't talk to me....""It's a holiday, I'm with my family"" and hangs up. ""I'm at back to school night"". Fine just call me back. Nope, never ONCE called me back. Then he started hanging up on me. Now, it is straight to voicemail. I'm currently looking for someone who can finish the job. Shower drain, sink and toilet. Guess I will read some reviews here and take heed.
And, if you are thinking about Sid and 5th Generation Plumbing? Take a deep breath. Slap yourself. Twice, maybe three times, and move on.

I needed to have my sewer line snaked from my house to the county connection. I called Fifth Generation Plumbing and they set up a convenient time for me.
Then I went outside and looked at the place where the 2-way connection was. I found that with this recent rain and sunshine it was so over-grown that it didn't look to me that the plumber could even get at it, so i called them back and said i'd have to postpone them until i could get someone to clear it out.
The very courteous young lady I spoke with told me she thought the man she'd send could still find the access and get to it.
Jerry arrived at precisely the time i'd been given. Much to my surprise, he said, ""No problem,"" got right to work clearing out the 6-foot tall weeds and took care of the job just fine.
I hope i don't need a plumber again, but if I do, this is the plumbing service I will call.

I'm a contractor in the greater Sacramento area. I found this company among many other on Craigslist. I spoke with the owner and I explained to him that my company redesigns backyards and we trenched a line for a gas line to be installed and that we already got the permits for it. All he needed to do was connect the line. easiest work he could have ever come across. Now to my problem, Thursday he told me he would be at my clients property between 12-2pm. around 5:30pm I get a call from my clients frustrated that no one has showed. I called the owner of 5th Gen Plumbing back and he told me ""sorry my guy is on his way and that he got held up on another job"". He promised me it would get done still same day. 6:51pm rolls around and he texts me that there's not enough sunlight to do the estimate and install. I then had to call my client to inform them of the bad news which makes my company look bad. Then he promised me and my Project Manager that he would be out there in the early morning to get it done. I contacted my clients and they agreed to still have him come out. He no showed again. I cant explain to you how frustrating it is to deal with an unorganized, lying sorry excuse for a contractor. He gives us all a bad name.

P.S. BTW, The owners final excuse as to why he couldn't show up today? Because he's so busy. He then proceeded to yell and cuss at me over the phone when I informed him that I would inform others of my experience. Do yourself a favor and run from this company.
