Teresa Z.I have used 4 Lakes Plumbing several times over the past few years when I've had leaky faucets and when my showers needed to be fixed so the water would stop changing to extreme temperatures every time someone turned the water on anywhere else in the house. They came out right away at MY earliest convenience and did the work right the first time and were very reasonably priced. I liked they they do not charge a trip charge at all and that the are family owned so they really treat you like family! Steve and Kelly are just the best! They also worked with me on a payment plan which was so nice and helpful of them and just shows how much they care. I Highly recommend them!
Chose 4 Lakes instead of the recommendation of our contractor during a remodeling project several years back because we were initially impressed with their presentation. They proved to be difficult to work with. Hard to coordinate--leading to delays for other contractors. Charged extra for some work they had already charged in the estimate. Made mistakes with hard water and soft water piping that had to be corrected. Two separate faucet installations had leaks that we ultimately resolved with another plumber (who did better work at a cheaper rate).
If I could give this group 0 stars, I would.
I had them do all the plumbing on a remodel. They made SEVERAL mistakes. Worse even than the mistakes that they made, they repeatedly claimed that their errors were 'the way it's done.'
After checking with the manufacturer and other vendors, we found out they had indeed completed the installation wrong.
They fixed one of their mistakes. Two we had to fix ourselves. For the worst one, we'll have to get someone else to do it.
They incorrectly installed a kitchen sink - it was a costly mistake that affected the appearance of the sink. It leaked on all four sides, because it wasn't properly caulked. It was a stainless steel over mount sink - where you put the caulk in the channel around the edge before installation. when it's done, there is no visible caulk and no leaking.
They refused to remove the sink and caulk it properly. They said they would only run a bead of caulk around the edge - a visible caulk line. Then, they claimed 'that's how these sinks are installed in Wisconsin.'
The major manufacturer of this sink, which is located in Wisconsin, laughed when I told them this story. They found this claim ridiculous and then e-mailed me the installation instructions showing how it should have been done.
They weren't quick, they weren't responsive, they weren't competent.
