Our home warranty contracted JR to come out to look at our AC because the temperature of our home was not reaching the target temp that the thermostat was set to. JR told us that our emergency stop was not hooked up and could flood our home, and also that the unit was cooling our attic because the coil was not attached properly. He said that we would have to have someone pull the whole unit out and reassemble it and that it was very labor-intensive and would be expensive. As it turns out, our emergency stop was not hooked up because the overflow valve was routed outside (which is very common) so that any water would go straight outside instead of flooding out home. Also, the issue with the AC not reaching target temp was because there was a gap in the sheetrock between the unit in the closet and the attic so the cold air was escaping through that gap and not going through the ducts. Another company came out, sealed that gap in about 10 minutes and now my AC and target temp match! JR took our $75 service call fee, (cash or check only) did zero work, and incorrectly diagnosed the problem. We will be working with our home warranty company to get him removed as a contractor, especially after seeing these other reviews.
As stated in previous review J. R. is completely dishonest, unreliable, and a disgrace to his profession. The outside unit to my air conditions went out. I contacted my home warranty company and they set up for Four Corners to come out. J. R. the owner came out and said the unit needed to be replaced. I contacted the home warranty company and they started the process. After several days passed with no response from anyone, I contacted J. R. He stated that he had not received anything from the home warranty company. I called the home warranty company. They stated that they had emailed him several times. They contacted him by phone with me on hold. The home warranty come came back on the phone with me and advised that J. R. stated that he doesn't receive emails from their system to his yahoo account, so that sent it from a gmail account and documented it so that others would use the gmail account as well. This process of non communication continued from J. R. He kept trying to put the blame on the home warranty company when I would talk to him. Then I would call the home warranty company and they would say the J. R. had not responded to their inquiries. Finally the outside unit gets ordered. At this point is has been 6 weeks since the unit went out. I get a call from the home warranty company stating that the unit as arrived at the Lennox dealer and that J. R. had been contacted and should be contacting me to let me know of an install time either the next day or day after (That was on a Tuesday). Tuesday afternoon J. R. had not contacted me. I called him. He stated that he had picked up my unit and that he would be at my residence on Thursday to do the install. Thursday rolls around and J. R. does not show up. I called him and he stated that there was a problem with the invoice from the home warranty company. I then contacted the warranty company and by this point I am dealing with supervisors at the warranty company. The supervisor stated the J. R. had not sent in the invoice paperwork. She called him and told him that it has not been received and that all the invoices come through her. At that point J.R. sends the invoice to the warranty company. Friday rolls around and still nothing from J.R. The supervisor calls him on a recorded line and he tells her that he will be at my house first thing Saturday morning to do the install. Saturday rolls around and of course no J.R. I tried calling him and he doesn't answer. The supervisor tries calling him and no answer. There is another weekend with no upstairs air conditioning. Monday comes and I tried calling J.R. and he doesn't answer and doesn't return voice messages. The supervisor from the warranty company tries calling and no answer. She then calls him from her personal cell phone and he answer with me on the other line. She questions him about not showing up Saturday. He said that the Lennox dealer was closed on Saturday and he could not pick up the unit (but he had told me two weeks prior that he had the unit). He then tells hers that I am on the schedule for Tuesday from 11am to 2pm and I hear him tell her this. Once she hung up with J.R. she called the Lennox deal and they were open from 8am to 10am on Saturday (so, once again J.R. flat out lied). The next day rolls around (Tuesday) and again he is a no show. He still won't answer or returns calls from me, but he also won't answer calls from the warranty company. The warranty then re-assigned the install to a different air conditioning company and they also removed him from their contractor's list. He is no longer allowed to do business with them. I am absolutely floored at the unprofessional behavior and blatant disregard for his clientele base. Fair warning to those of you who are planning to use this individual to do anything for you. Also, if you have a warranty company that is still using him you had better tell them a head of time NOT TO! Other wise you will be like me with out air conditioning for over 2 months.
P.S. For the person that paid for a new unit and had J.R. install a used one. You have two years to file charges. That conduct is theft and fraud. Because of the dollar amount the theft would be a felony and fraud is an automatic felony. I do know the law too (Retired police officer).
As stated in other reviews, "JR" is a con-man. Got my AC repair claim denied through a home warranty company, then offered to "take care of us" to get it done for us. What a scam! Installed a "new" AC/heat unit, which turns out is a scratch and dent unit that he charged me full price for and installed a 9kw heat unit which cant keep up with even our mild cold spells here in TX and charged me for a 15kw heat unit on the invoice. Installed the entire thing incorrectly and I am now having to shell out likely more than $2k again just to make it function properly. As also mentioned, he will give you a time/date that he'll come out and never show - did this to me on numerous occasions during install as well as after trying to get him to fix problems. I also wish I could give zero stars. I'll be taking this up with the state, re: his HVAC license (or lack there-of, we'll see) based on several other professional opinions on what he did and what it is going to take to repair.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS
Home Service Club told me to call for appt. Left Msg. at 9:30am @ 12:30 pm a man called me back and said he would call me in 1.5 hrs. to schedule an appt. No calls back. I called him back at 3pm, no calls back. I called HSC and told them I needed another reliable company. A Zero would be better...
Ehab S.If I could give zero stars or better yet find a way to criminally charge him for stealing people's money I would. I'm not sure why my previous negative review got deleted but JR is such a conman that I'm going out of my way to right another bad review.
I paid JR money to do a remodel of an apartment building I purchased after another contractor stole money from me. I trusted JR because I had used him once before on a job which had some issues but he did complete. He kept asking for more and more money to keep the job going until I paid him the full amount that we agreed to; however, he had only completed a fraction of the work that needed to be done. He stole from me around $30k and did not complete the work we had in writing to do. I eventually hired another contractor and paid him even more to finish the job. Never, Never, Never do business with this guy. As you can see all his reviews are one star.
D H.JR aka John Rock is a scam artist. He only wants cash to do the job. He caused a leak after installing a new A/C and after he got our money. He promised he would send his sheet rock guy out. But never did. Then he said he could send someone else out, but we would have to pay for it.
NOT TRUSTWORTHY.
Do not use this company. My landlord had them come out to replace a part on our well. They replaced the part in 10 minutes which is great. A month later we had another issue so she called them again, they assured her they would be out the next day, 3 days later and having no water they finally answered our calls and said he would not be able to come out at all. We found another company to come out and found out the part 4 corners replaced only cost $40 and he charged our landlord $325, and he installed it upside down. I understand labor charges but $285 for 10 minutes is ridiculous especially when we had to reinstall it because it was upside down.
JR is a crook! DO NOT use them. He works under Marco Leon's license. Not sure if that's common practice or not but I doubt it. I hired him to do some a/c work on a rental property. Very simple stuff. He told me he'd completed the work and I paid him $525. A week later I found out that he didn't do any work at all!! He is a criminal and will lie right to you and you'll believe him, but don't.
They go by Frank's Plumbing on HomeAdvisor.com, but they are named 4 Corners Plumbing. JR is the main guy and the number is to his cell phone. They are extremely unreliable, and will tell you they will be there from 8am on each day then not show up or answer phone calls. The work they did up to this point seems well done, but I had to hire someone to finish the project after it reached 3 weeks instead of the 3 days I was assured. He did offer discounts due to the delays, but by the last time he didn't show, we were through. It's a shame as the project is 90% done. All they had to do was show up two more days and it would have been finished. But after warning them we would not deal with any more delays, they used a part being shipped (it was overnighted and here before they would have arrived the next day) as an excuse to skip two more days. He did not return texts or calls until an ultimatum was left for him to be here by noon or don't come at all. He responded at 1:30 saying the were on their way (which was not the first time I had heard that with no sign of them). He did pay me back a substantial part of my down payment. I believe they can be a decent company, but expecting customers to be at home and then not let them know you won't be coming is completely unacceptable.
We have had a bad experience with this company, which goes by several business names, i.e., Frank's Plumbing, Four Corners Plumbing, etc. I was provided the company's name by HomeAdvisors. Contacted them to acquire installation prices. I spoke with JR, and the installation of a sink and faucet, along with installing a new faucet in a half-bath, was scheduled for Wednesday, June 24, 2015. No one showed up, nor did they phone us. I phoned JR around 5:00 p.m. that day, and he proceeded to tell me it wasn't on the books, but he supposedly checked his office schedule, and sure enough he had scheduled the appointment. He then scheduled an appointment for the following day. He did show up on June 25, 2015, installed the kitchen sink and faucet; however, said he could not fix the bathroom faucet without certain parts, nor could he install the new faucet. He did not caulk the kitchen sink. He left with the assurance he would return. We've tried contacting him numerous times to no avail. Finally speaking with JR, he assured me he'd be here on June 30th, yet he NEVER SHOWED UP again. I phoned him later that day only to be told it had SLIPPED HIS MIND. He was to come the following day, yet he has not come nor has he had the common courtesy of phoning us. Our new sink remains un-caulked, which means we must find another plumber to come in, or do the caulking ourselves. This has been a very disappointing experience, especially so since JR seemed to be a nice young man. Very deceiving to say the least.
