We had an emergency sewer backup into our basement earlier this year and Three Mountains was the only group that could get out to see us relatively quickly, as we were not able to use our bathroom without causing flooding.

We had a team come scope our sewer line and noted there were multiple disintegration points in our main sewer line under the house. We had just moved in and this was just about our worst nightmare. Eventually, we determined the sewer line under the house needed to be replaced as it has reached the end of its lifetime. Time was of the essence since we quite literally not live at home without this being fixed, so sadly we didn't feel we had time to shop around - although in hindsight, I wish we did even if it meant finding another place to stay temporarily.

The process of getting set up for this big job was pretty straightforward. We signed the paperwork and scheduled a start day for the three day job. Jeff M. was our project manager for this job and assured us things would go smoothly. Once the project started though, Jeff was pretty out of the picture and was difficult to contact multiple times. At one point a manager above him came to check in on the big project (but didnt say hi to us), and Jeff mentioned he didn't like when managers came around to project sites. We began to get suspicious and frustrated here. Despite this, the workers actually coming to do the work were courteous and pleasant to interact with.

The original job plan included replacing the sewer line under the basement, installing a new hose bib , and adding a utility sink. The last two tasks were not critical but we requested these additions to lump the costs into one credit line payment since we financed part of the project.

On the last project day we were told that the final piece of the sewer line closest to the foundation wall could not be replaced without accessing the pipe from the exterior of the home. This wasn't planned and we requested a re-quote. Due to the way they organize their teams, their outside excavation crew and internal plumbing crew operate separately, and don't appear to communicate well, despite being assured they were not subcontractors. Jeff attempted to give us a couple of unofficial price points that were vastly difrerent than one of the members of the outside excavation crew did. They also could not get the person responsible for the outside quote to our home quickly, and I believe we had to reschedule their visit several times.

As part of the pipe replacement, the drywall behind our dishwasher needed to be cut out. We were told someone would be able get this ""put back together"" but not told it would be at our own cost. We couldnt get someone to do a quote for this for a long time since they contract this out, so we ended up just doing this ourselves.

The utility sink they installed ended up leaking the first time we used it, and we tried to get someone to come fix it. They scheduled someone to come, but they didn't show up. This didn't happen once but twice! At this point between the lack of communication from Jeff N. and upper management, and difficulty getting follow up items scheduled, I began to regret hiring them for this project. Because of the frustration we had dealing with their scheduling team and their apparent communication issues they have between their teams, we decided to end the project here and go without replacing the final piece of sewer line under the foundation wall. We hope that it holds up as we now have 90% of our sewer line replaced but there is one segment that remains.

It feels like Three Mountains has no problem taking advantage of homeowners stuck between a rock and a hard place and then not caring about following through on the final steps of the project. I know I'm definitely going to shop around and look for a different plumbing company in the future.

I will provide our costs for transparency in case you are shopping around:

- $21,776 for under house sewer line replacement involving jackhammering of congrete
- $1442 for utility sink
- $432 for hot/cold hose hose faucet

I needed 2 shutoff valves replaced under my kitchen sink. I had a hard time reaching them with my low back problems.

Bottom line: this company is gouging their customers shamelessly. $600 for 2 valves replaced??!? you have to be kidding.

I needed the work done today, so I paid this ridiculous charge, but I'll never use them again. Now I understand why they won't even provide a ""ballpark"" estimate before coming out to your home.

Something should be done to control this kind of shameful business practice.

These guys are great! All the plumbers/ technicians they sent out have been great Deiyn-like Great Dane-Tony, Dave and Devon? Very professional, punctual. Completed on time and financing available. They feel like family now that we've seen them a few times this year. Thank you so much for making our home safe and clean!

Had a kitchen drain pipe that failed. They sent the initial person out to inspect and he was great. Once he realized we needed a pipe scope they sent out that person, his quote was $4700 for a drain pipe replacement. My gf told him to beat it and we got two new bids for less than $700. The reviews on this business are misleading, they are the epitome of a price gouge operation. Stay away from this business.

Two people from 3 Mountains visited me to provide a quote to replace my power vent water heater. One of them was a bit friendlier than the other, but that other person warmed up after a while. I made it clear that I was only interested in the lowest price in which they could replace my water heater and I did not need other options. They still tried to sell me on two more expensive options. When I asked what would be the reason for the price difference they explained that it had to do with longer warranties. The three quotes/options included a six year, an eight year, and a 12 year warranty, if I recall correctly. (I might not recall those other two longer-term warranty periods correctly because by the time they told me that info I was annoyed they were trying to upsell me.) They also suggested a fourth option which was a different style of water heater altogether and far more expensive than what I had.

I did appreciate that they provided the model number for the replacement heater. I looked it up there on the spot and the water heater would cost $1600. Since the lowest quote they provided me (the one with a six year warranty, which by the way is standard from the Bradford White manufacturer) was $4800. Considering I already have all of the ductwork in place, and none of it needed to be replaced, I was having a hard time understanding why there was such an intense labor charge over the cost of the water heater. While they were nice enough to entertain my questions I found their prices to be absurdly high.

After telling the story to somebody else recently who also received quotes for a water heater replacement, they told me they had the same experience in where the quote from 3 Mountains was high.

Then, after providing me three different price options, which again, I never wanted because I only wanted one price option, their sales people proceeded to try to sell me on a subscription service for keeping my drains unclogged. This demonstrated a lack of context awareness or respect for my situation (which was that I was already broke and now I had a very expensive water heater replacement cost on my hands and the last thing I need is to fork out more cash for a service that is unlikely to be needed). my experience with them felt like they were just going through the motions on what they are trained to do without any recognition on the actual experience that I was having.

Bait and switch tactic. Needed a drain cleared out and they wanted to a run a camera for $150 additional charge. Wasn't necessary since it had a new sewer line. Be very careful with false promotions. I am in the real estate biz and telling everyone to steer clear of them. Should be reported to BBB as well.

They don't honor their estimates.
I had a plumbing issue that required fast service.
When I first called to make the appointment, the service rep immediately tried to upsell me. I needed a leaking faucet looked at. After I told her the problem, and that the faucet was only 3 years old, she wanted to know how old the house was, and if I had clogs. Ummm...,I would call if I did.
This person couldn't make the appointment right then. I should expect a call from dispatch. Fine. After waiting several hours, right when I was about to give up, I received a call that someone was available then. Cool.
A very personable plumber came, and looked at it. He took both handles off
( it's the kind of faucet that comes out of the wall) He diagnosed what he thought the issue was, and made a recommendation. Great. No problem here.
Now the fun part. The faucet had screws it shouldn't have. The kind hard to get off. I have no idea how they got there. Anyway, he knew all that. He was having issues putting one side back together. So since I thought he would be coming back soon, I told him it leave it.
He sent a formal contract with a price AFTER he knew all this. This was on a Thursday. On Monday I got a call that his manager said that, because of the screws, it would cost $400 more than the original estimate. Remember, he knew about it before he gave me the price.
So here I am, with the faucet in worse shape when he left than when he came.
So no, I don't recommend them at all. They will try to price gouge up every step of the way.

Beware of 3 Mountains Plumbing. They'll take advantage of your lack of knowledge and your trust. I ended up paying $5,479.00 for a job that wasn't necessary, that was grossly overpriced, and that they failed to complete. This is in addition to the $2,174 job that I paid them to replace a pipe they ruptured when they snaked it.

On July 20th, 2023, I hired 3 Mountains Plumbing to check for a possible obstruction in the sink of the basement. They suggested snaking it. When they did this, they broke the pipe and blamed it on the fact that it was an old, galvanized pipe. I'll never know if the pipe broke because it was old or because the twenty-something employee who snaked it didn't know how to properly operate the snaking tool. They charged us $2,174.50 to repair it. In the process, they scoped the underground pipe, determined that it was ""channeling"", and strongly advised us to replace it. In their estimate, they calculated that they would have to dig a 20-foot concrete trench using a jackhammer. They also said that it would take them ""most of the day"" to complete the first phase of the job, which consisted in finishing the installation for approval by the city inspector. Their estimate for this second project was $5,479.00. Since the underground pipe was not leaking and, according to the plumber, it would take one or two years for it to leak and cause any damage, it wasn't an urgent problem needing immediate attention. Nonetheless, my partner and I decided to heed the plumber's strong advice to complete this project. Our only condition was that they finished the job by August 10th. We clearly expressed to them that, unless they could commit themselves to completing it by this date, we wouldn't approve the project. They accepted this condition and deadline and completed the first phase of the job on August 1st. It took them a little more than two hours to complete it (rather than most of the day) and the trench they dug was less than 6 feet long (rather than 20). Not only did they grossly overestimate the time and effort it would take them to complete the job but, on top of it, they failed to complete the job by August 10th. They refused to adjust the inflated estimate when I pointed out this large discrepancy between their estimate and the job they actually did.

I ended up hiring a different company to finish the job 3 Mountains Plumbing failed to complete on time. The plumber who finished the project commented that it was poorly done and unnecessary because the old underground pipe they urged me to replace was still in good shape.

So I ended up paying $5,479.00 for a job that wasn't necessary, that was grossly overpriced, and that they failed to finish on time. This is in addition to the $2,174 job that I paid for the old pipe they ruptured when they snaked it.

As a result of their negligence and abuse, I decided to file a complaint with the Oregon Department of Justice.
