Firstly I have no issue with the service provided. Although It looked more complicated it was a simple clogged drain. Two youngsters who had been taught to operate a snake were sent, not a real plumber but all went well. Anyone with a snake could have done it. I don't own a snake.
My issue is with the contract I was expected to sign. In short it read
1. They were not to be held responsible if damage was done to my property in the course of repair.
2. All sorts of not responsible for items to extensive to list but rather ridiculous.
3. But the real kicker though was in spite of this this being a whole house insurance program that covers everything including replacement if item cannot be repaired after the service free, I was expected to sign that I not the policy they have contracted with would be financially responsible for everything and could result in the loss of my home.
I have owned my home for 35 years and had many repairs, insurance claims and remodels. Never have I seen such a truly hostile contract. They claim it is standard but...
The day after I had to replace my water heater and guess what No hostile contract to sign. I read the contract to this journeyman plumber who said he had never seen or heard of such a contract.
2 months ago I spent $17,000. on a complete new HVac system and yes there was a contract but the contents were about what I would get and for how much.
Same thing for home remodel.
Incidentally these people have an F rating with the BBB with many, many complaints.

I was working thru my warranty company and they chose 1st Response Plumbing and Flood in National City as my vendor. I placed the call on a Monday and my appt. was on Weds. The plumber said he fixed my toilet problem with a new flapperr and adjusting the water level. I forgot to check the toilet before he left. When I did, it was in worse shape than when he got here. I immediately called the plumber. The first phone number I called the voice mail was full and they never answered or responded to my calls. All 10 of them? It has been a week and still have nevered responded to my calls.

DO NOT USE THIS PLUMBER. I DO NOT KNOW HOW THEY ARE STILL IN BUSINESS? NO CUSTOMER SERVICE AT ALL??????
i AM NOW ONE WEEK LATER STILL WITH A BROKEN TOILET BEING REFERRED TO A DIFFERENT PLUMBER TODAY.

These guys came out promptly on behalf of our warranty co. They were very professional , clean, respectful . I would definitely recommend them and use them again .

1st Response Plumbing and Flood Damage was very professional and worked well with Choice Home Warranty to replace a rusted, old, leaking kitchen sink drain assembly and pull down kitchen faucet. It was a two step process, but all handled in less than 4 days. James, the plumber, was extremely diligent about finding us a similar faucet replacement with a low budget driven by our home warranty. He texted photos and descriptions to share info and make us comfortable with the look/feel of the replacement (not and easy task). Then showed up and did the work in less than two hours. Their office team also had good communication with us regarding payment of the required $65 deposit and overall timing. We were happy and will use them again.

My water heater installation was contracted out to First Response Plumbing through Choice Home Warranty. If you are deciding to us this company or are referred to this company through your home warranty, please take my advice and choose another plumber. This company is a disaster. I have read all the bad reviews of this company and they are spot on. Unfortunately, I read them after the fact. First Response Plumbing is the most unprofessional company I have ever dealt with. They cannot even install a water heater without making a disaster of the job and destroying my garage walls. When you attempt to contact them to repair all the damage and issues with the install they will never answer the phone or return your calls. I am still dealing with this company and I am making sure to document everything while also keeping Choice Home Warranty in the loop. I anticipate that First Response Plumbing will lose a lot of business through Choice Home Warranty.

1st Response Plumbing handled by service call thru the Choice Home Warranty program. I had a slow working circulating pump for my water heater so they came to verify the problem and ordered a new pump. Two weeks later, James came out to remove and replace the part. He was very professional and left everything clean after he was all finished within an hour. Thanks for getting my hot water back on a timely basis.

My water heater was leaking. I went through my home warranty company who sent 1st response. The technician came out timely and explained everything to me. He was great. Where things started going terribly wrong is the administrative side. After he came out my home warranty was waiting for them to submit a diagnosis in order to get the water heater replacement approved. Not only was a diagnosis not submitted they never responded to a number of phone calls or texts after the initial visit. Even my home warranty company tried to reach out to them. They left me a week with no hot water until I was able to get another company to come out instead. My recommendation is to away from this company at all costs.
