Not too thrilled. Did not diagnose the problem and pushed me into buying a whole new toilet. Called another plumber on my own who said I don't need a new toilet and he fixed my problem.

I needed a water softener removed. I was not charged for someone to come out and give a quote and the quote was reasonably priced. After receiving the quote I scheduled the work to be done 2 days later. During the initial quote, Mark did a great job explaining what they would do. When he arrived to complete the work he was on time, quick, and once he completed the work he walked me through what was done. Also he practiced safe measures during both visits to my home. I highly recommend 1st home.

My home is pre-plumbed for water softener. 1st Home & Commercial Services came out and gave me an estimate for hooking up the water softener, which was very nice of them to do. However, they wanted over $1,200. No, that doesn't include the water softener! He said they charge $255 per hour. Sounds more like what a tax attorney would charge. Even if I was willing to pay $255/hour, it should only take a couple of hours to hook up anyway. I bought the water softener at Lowe's, so I'm going through them. It'll be $250 plus $40-$120 for parts. I was only getting other estimates because I thought $250 sounded a bit high for a pre-plumbed hook up job. If 1st Home & Commercial Services can explain why it takes 4 hours and $1200 to hook up my $400 water softener when my house is already pre-plumbed for it, I'll gladly amend this review.

Misleading about their massive fees and billing procedures; unprofessional office staff.

Called them to come give me a quote for the repair of a commercial water heater and their response time sounded good. When they came out I was told that the "Evaluation Service Fee," was 255$, regardless of how simple the issue is. Sounded excessive, but since that usually comes with the work, I said ok. Their technician Dominic was good with his work, etc. He was able to fix the problem (even with a few complications, i.e. blew one of our fuses touching two leads together so had to run and get more; needed a tool he didn't have on his van so had to run get it, etc.). So after the work, the he said that his supervisor would not let him invoice me, which is somewhat unusual as well (and would have been nice to know upfront). Of course you try to work with everyone you want to continue doing business with, so complied in good faith. Well after paying, realized that I had been charged the full amount of the repair and then also the service fee. Since usually if I bid out a job to a company, on giving them the job they include that in the cost for the work. Maybe an oversight. Called their office and spoke with their Office Manager Jennifer, who when asked about it made it clear that she felt I was attempting to not pay them for the work done. I apologized and told her that I would like to keep doing business with them, but that the usual was to include a "Service Call" fee within the cost of the payment for providing the business. She was very clear that they did not feel they needed our business. Did not want to even let me speak to someone else, said I would have to schedule a call. No wonder they did not want to invoice me. Well point taken. I'll never work with this company again.

If you are with the company reading this; please make sure that if you are going to charge an excessive service fee and not include it with the work (as is a standard in the industry) that you are making that explicit to the person who is paying.

Misleading customers is unethical, and not very good business.

I finished renovating a rental property and the last day on the project I had a water leak in the main kitchen. I spent 30 minutes and couldn't find where the leak came from.

I am from out of state and had a 20 hour drive the same day. I messaged several plumbing services and 1st Home quoted me the cheapest price and arrived within one hour.

The first technician was very nice and did everything he could to find the leak and non of us can figure where the puddle of water was coming from. Unfortunately I had to leave the state and prayed that the leak would fix it self.

I had a friend check in on the house and there was a puddle of water beneath the sink. We recalled 1st Home while on. The road and they sent a different technician within an hour of the same day. He spent 30 minutes trying to find the leak and couldn't locate it. As soon he called me the to tell me he couldn't find anything the leak finally presented itself and he fixed it.

On top of that they didn't recharge me for another service call. We felt so relieved for the rest of the drive home.

So, I highly recommend them for speedy service with the cheapest service fee.

They got a plumber here quickly and on time. Had my # in their system from years ago so knew who I was and where I lived. There was a minor challenge with a bathroom sink. Mark diagnosed the situation and gave me good, better, best options. Highly recommend.

I own three Austin properties and these guys have taken care of all our plumbing issues for 8 years. They've tackled HUGE projects and little ones. They are professional, punctual, fairly priced and their work is always reliable and awesome. I just had Mr. Akers out yesterday and he again, just blew me away with his attention to detail and superior craftmanship. Look no further! I would never call anyone else to address my plumbing needs! I'll be a customer for life.

Had a drain clog problem at a bathroom sink. Also wanted a pro to handle replacing the sink's faucet, which was complicated by the presence of the A/C condensation drain joining up with the sink drain. 1st Home's friendly Brit plumber, Mark, was able to get here way before the assigned time, so we had to scramble to get ready, but I was glad to get it done sooner. Mark got the clog removed quickly and dealt with all the drain joint problems that would have driven me crazy had I tried doing it myself. Good work! Thanks.

This Company is excellent. My inquires and service went smoothly from beginning to end. Serviceman Dominic L. was excellent. He assessed what I wanted done, and advised me on what needed to be done. He was very professional, knowledgeable, polite and patient. Dominic answered all of questions, and even discovered another issue if left unnoticed could have cost me more money. I can't say enough about this Company. Dominic was very efficient, and kept me informed all along the way. The Company is excellent and very responsive to phone calls. I would highly recommend this Company to anyone! Dominic is simply great!!

These guys did an OK install of a water heater (only two problems, both fixable my me) so I decided to try them on some duct work. I needed a new supply plenum and had a video chat with Ryan at the end of March. I climbed up in the attic, took a bunch of pictures, made some measurements, explained what I wanted done and asked for a quote. Though Ryan seemed a little distracted (not yet the busy season), I waited for a week before recontacting him. He said, "Sorry I'll have that quote tomorrow." Five calls and six weeks later, each time with the message "Someone will call you back today", I call again. Marcos, though the customer service agent (who never gives her name), says to tell me "we will not bid on the job." Well thanks for nothing Marcos, Marcus, or how ever you name is spelled. You should have told me that back in March, before I crawled up in the attic and did all that work and now that's its too hot for anyone to be up in attic. No excuse for waiting 6 weeks to deliver that message. They seem to be just another hit or miss home repair company.
