As an active-duty military member, I relocated to Columbus, Ohio at the beginning of June 2023 to start a new job and wanted to add some entertainment space to my new-build home. 1st Choice Renew LLC started my deck construction on 29 June 2023 and to-date (01 August 2023), still has not completed the work of installing the staircase railing (required per building law/code), reattached the siding and vent cover on my house that was temporarily removed to install the deck, cleaned up the work site, or picked up their remaining tools. On 20 July, I receive a motion notification from my home surveillance system which showed Aaron at my house while I was at work picking up extra materials to return them for money and taking pictures of their unfinished work. When I called him to ask why he didn't let me know he was coming by and when the construction crew was coming back to finish the work, he claimed he would have finished the work himself but did not have his tools in his truck that day.

Over the course of three (3) weeks, I've sent 1st Choice Renew LLC three (3) emails on 12 July, 17 July, and 24 July, however, the company has not responded despite me providing pictures of the unfinished work. Additionally, I have called Aaron's cellphone and 1st Choice Renew LLC's office number nine (9) times on 19-21 July, 24 July, 26 July, and 28 July, however, my voicemails went unanswered. Finally, on 28 July, I called Aaron from my work phone and he answered because it was a different number. He promised he would come to my house the next day on 29 July 2023 to finish the work. To-date, 1st Choice Renew LLC still has not completed the work despite Aaron making prior promises to personally come to my house on 08 July, 20 July, and 29 July to do so.

The company refuses to contact me, a paying customer, to make this right. To make it worse, with the thunderstorms our region has been experiencing over the last few weeks and the exposure of my new house wrap due to the siding not being reinstalled by 1st Choice Renew LLC, I fear the lack of contractor response may cause destruction to my new home. If this is how they treat an active-duty military member, they'll treat anyone this way. BUYER BEWARE!! DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY!!
