1st Choice plumbing answered my phone call and provided a reasonable response time for the next morning to my non-emergency water leak. They were upfront with pricing and had me all patched up within hours. I also have a 1yr warranty on the fix. Thanks guys.

Wish I could give 0 stars. 1st Choice Plumbing had previously snaked our kitchen mainline as we were experiencing backup. They recommended hydro-jetting in the future. We scheduled an appointment for 10/10/18 at 8:30am for hydro-jetting.

10/10/18 at 8:15am: 15 minutes before they are supposed to arrive, get a call from them that they need to reschedule. They called me instead of my husband who made the appointment. Husband speaks to them and they said the hydro-jetting machine is in the shop and won't be ready until the following week so they come out and snake the line and charge full price.

10/10/18 at 11:15am: Sink is backing up again already right after the plumber leaves so he comes back out in the afternoon to snake again.

Within a few weeks, we are having issues again.

11/23/2018: Call to schedule hydro-jetting. They say they can do it same day at 4pm then they call back a few minutes later to say they can't do it same day and will discount the service based on what we've already paid for the snaking. We schedule an appointment for 12/8/2018 at 10am as that is the earliest availability that works out.

12/8/2018 at 10am: No one shows up

12/8/2018 at 10:15am: Call 1st Choice, no answer, leave message

12/8/2018: Send company Facebook messages, call (now the mailbox is full), leave messages, call again and again, no response.

12/10/2018: Husband calls and they were apologetic saying someone should have called and let us know they hydro-jetter was ""in the shop"" again and that's why they ghosted us. Make one final appointment for the afternoon of 12/12/2018 which leads us to today....

We call this morning to confirm the appointment that was made for ""this afternoon"" and ask if we can get a narrowed down time of arrival. Company confirms our appointment and says it can probably even be earlier and will call us back. They call back a few minutes later and GUESS WHAT? They're freaking hydro-jetting machine isn't working AGAIN! At this point, we just ask for a refund and are trying to contact other plumbers. They said they'd call back about the refund but I have zero confidence in them to even be able to do that.

I'm sad to have to post a poor review of this company. A few years ago, we hired 1st Choice to replumb our house. At the time, we appreciated their professionalism and quick, quality work. Honestly, they did a great job and we were very happy. The technician offered the option to not replumb over to our refrigerator because it did not have a water/ice spout, which we agreed to because it would save on drywall repair.

Fast forward a few years later. We now have a new fridge with an ice maker and no water hook up to use. I called 1st Choice multiple times to ask them to come back out and give us an estimate for the work. After multiple calls, a technician came out and gave us an estimate for the work using plastic pipes. We had our house piped with copper, so I asked for a copper estimate. I was told that they would need to get back to me with that estimate. I also asked for them to check my final invoice from the previous work to make sure I had received a monetary credit for not having the piping work done in the kitchen the first time. My copy of the original invoice only said ""repipe entire house."" I was told that they would need to dig into their file boxes to find the invoice (totally understandale...it had been a few years.) After a few weeks, I called multiple times asking if there was an answer yet to my question and was told every time that the technician would get back to me quickly. Long story short: I never received a call back with a quote for copper or with a copy of my original invoice.

I'm left with a sour feeling about this company. I wasn't offering to not pay them. In fact, I was looking to rehire them and just wanted to review the original invoice to ensure that the amount we paid didn't include the work that I was looking to have done. What a bummer.

I found 1st choice to be a great plumbing company. They responded to an emergency situation very quickly (at my house with in 2 hours) in Encinitas and did a professional job with fair quotes and options, maybe slightly higher in price but made up for the quality in service and used quality parts. Both Will and Art were both super knowledgeable with all my probing question. They solved a copper pipe pinhole leak which came from my ceiling and replaced another piece the next day just for good measure and they replaced my shot main regulator valve that was over 105psi (double the recommended 50-60psi) and added a pressure gauge for extra sanity. Highly recommend. Nice guys as well.

We were referred to Michael at 1st Choice Plumbing through another contractor that we had good experience with, Hector at First Choice Tiling. (They are unrelated.) I kind of laughed and thought, there's no way these companies could really be 1st choice, right? But in fact they are.

Michael came out and assessed the plumbing work for a master bath remodel. He was on time for the estimate and gave me a quote soon after and explained upfront that if certain conditions existed when they demolished the existing drywall, additional costs might be incurred.

After demo, we learned (as Michael warned us) that certain plumbing needed to be rerouted in our older home. The additional costs were reasonable and within the range of what Michael estimated.

Michael handled both rough in and finish plumbing. He was patient and attentive to certain things we wanted done a particular way, e.g., the exact location of some of our fixtures.

As all projects do, we ran into a glitch. At first I worried that it would be major. Once Michael diagnosed the error, he was prompt in taking steps to make it right.

I think the sign of good contractor is not only how they perform when everything works perfectly, but how they perform when things don't. We highly recommend 1st Choice Plumbing for bathroom remodel work. We look forward to reaching out to them for future HVAC estimate and other plumbing business in the future.

I have used first choice plumbing now twice to install new heaters for our apartments.
They have always been professional and given us a fair price.
They are a true family owned and operated business ( which we like supporting)
They were able to do an install of a heater for some older tenants within a day!

I am disappointed in this company. Their HVAC technician evaluated my heater and determined it needed a new circuit board. He told me the vendor they use closed at 4pm but her would call them first thing next day and reserve the circuit board, tell me how much it would be and when he could install.
I NEVER HEARD FROM HIM AGAIN!
Don't use this company...what more can I say?

No hot water on a Saturday morning - fun times. Contacted 1st Choice and they came out within a couple of hours and fixed the water heater quickly. I appreciate the fast service call on a Saturday and the communication of when they would arrive after a previous job.
