When we puchased a fifty year old home we knew we were going to have to add air conditioning. 1st. Choice Plumbing was the most resonable bid we received and we are very happy we went with them. They installed a new furnace and air conditioner and doing so in a home that was not ""ready"" for AC was no small task. Matt and his crew were professional; and competent; and knew what had to be done.They performed the work on time and left the work areas neat and clean each day. They also got the permits and arranged for the final inspection where the inspector commented on how well they did the job.
As a result of their work we had then clean out a blocked sewer drain and install 2 new faucets. And again; all completed on time and done with high quality. I strongly recommend 1st. Choice for any plumbing needs.

Yes I am a returning customer.

Replaced all the valves in the house and then Matt noticed that I had to replace the piping underneath the bathroom sinks/drain line as well.

Im sure the questions is why again did I choose 1st Choice? I've lived in my house for almost 13 years, I had a plumber come and check the master bedroom shower because it was clogging a lot. They snaked it and told me there's nothing wrong, paid them. Next plumber, my regulator was leaking called another plumber to check on it and all he did was tighten it which I could have done myself but didn't know nothing about plumbing and paid them almost the price of replacing it. Next plumber, yes a 3rd one replaced the water heater but didn't properly fix the flue vent but guess who noticed it was out of place... Matt.

I'm very satisfied with all the work 1st Choice have done. They are very reasonable in price and I'm so grateful that I take pride in the work they do for me. I will make sure they will always be my only Choice I make.

I would liked to say thank you to Matthew and his assistants who fixed our mainline leak, replaced water heater, water regulator, added copper extension for toilet water supply, and son's bathroom faucet . They were very knowledgeable, excellent customer service, quick response and fair pricing .What I liked about them they took a lot of pride doing their job and cleaned everything up like as it was before. I would also liked to thanked my brother in law who lives down the street from one of the employees for recommending them. If you need any plumbing and heating issues 1st choice plumbing should be your only CHOICE!!!

Our toilet and shower were backing up and we called 1st Choice Plumbing on a recommendation. I now know why they were recommended. Jason was sent over to take a look and he is the big reason for the 5 stars. His service was awesome! He did a camera scan and found roots in the main line. He was able to pinpoint where the spot where the roots were and fortunately it was not under the slab or driveway. He replaced about 2 feet of pipe and brought it up to code while he was at it. The cost was great compared to what the big corporate companies would have charged.

Back in December 2014 our hot water heater blew, flooded the house & ruined flooring, drywall etc. We awoke to this mess & NO hot water on a Sunday, no less!! We called 1st Choice Plumbing they came out immediately!

The water did even more damage than we knew & these guys helped navigate us through a stressful time of dealing with Insurance &having to be uprooted & stay in hotels!

They had to gut one whole bathroom & this crew put it back together & did an excellent job, reassuring us all the way thru the process. That was just the beginning! The flood truly opened a can of worms!

Thankfully, we are back home & because of !st Choice Plumbings workmanship, you would never know that there was ever a problem.

We continue to call them for all our plumbing needs. We have met Fernando, Matt, Mike & recently Blaine & I can honestly say that we have never been disappointed!

Blaine was here recently & the job turned out to be more complicated & he stayed the course & did an awesome job in a timely manner! This is a top-notch professional company! Honest too! We are happy we finally have found a great plumbing company! I highly recommend them.

You know, we have used 1st Choice in the past-- for a/c repair and a slab leak and they were great! Prompt, courteous, knowledgeable, but for the past 2 weeks we have been trying to get someone out to the house to troubleshoot our a/c. I called 2 weeks ago and the gal said she would return my call and schedule a time with me once she checked with Fernando. She never returned my call (I know, I should have just called someone else right then). In a last ditch effort and not wanting to call someone new into the scenario, I called back on Tuesday asking again if we could get someone out on Saturday-- sure no problem they will call you back with a time on Friday morning. She assured me someone would be out and not to worry b/c I asked her point blank if they weren't going to be able to, I wanted to know so I could arrange for someone else. Fast forward to today(Friday). Big surprise, no one called to give me a window, so I called in and the gal said Fernando had just pulled in so she'd run out and ask him and call me right back. Lo and behold, she calls me back but says ""I have bad news. No one can get out to your house tomorrow. We're sorry."" Really? Two weeks notice and no one can make it? What is up 1st Choice? When I had my slab leak, you were out within 2 hours on a Sunday. I just don't get it. Really dissappointed and will never use you again and highly encourage you to stay away because clearly, unless you have a big job, ""sorry, we can't make it"".

I called around to some local plumbers to get estimates on a leak I had over my water heater. Of the few companies I spoke with, 1st choice was easily the most responsive and most professional. After getting estimates from 3 other companies, they were also the best priced while not try to sell me on any unnecessary work that other companies were pushing. This made the difference for me and so I decided to go with them and am glad that I did. They were on time, available to answer questions, and very willing to give long term advice that helped me save money and get my water heater back in working condition. I have struggled to find contractors or plumbers who care about the quality control aspect of doing business or are honest and that's what set these guys apart for me. Mike was my tech and coincidentally is one of the owners so it's clear that he cares about his business and his reputation. I'll be using and referring 1st choice for sure.

The carbon monoxide alarm had gone off in my house so I figured that
I needed someone to inspect my central heating system. I contacted 1st choice plumbing to do it since they had good reviews on yelp. A ""technician"" came out to my house for the service call and I told him what happened and he asked to see the heater. After I turned it on, he looked at the flame for a few seconds and told me that the heat exchange was cracked and that it would need to be replaced. He told me that I was better off installing a new unit rather than replacing the heat exchange due to costs and that they would be happy to offer a discount on such a replacement. He then charged me $79 for the inspection. I then ceased using the heater at all.

A day or two later the alarm went off again. After further research into carbon monoxide causes, I discovered that SDGE does CO inspections for free! (I probably should've known or guessed that.) Anyways, I arranged for an inspection and a real technician came to my home with several sensors and sets of equipment. He took a reading of the CO levels, then asked me to turn on every single gas appliance. After everything running for a while, he took a reading with his sensor in every room of the house and even put the sensor into the flame of the heat exchange. He only found negligible levels of CO (3 ppm being the highest) and nothing near what should have set the alarm off. He said that the home/appliances were safe for use and that it was probably a faulty alarm (it was over 5 yrs old).

The more I've thought about this, the more it has angered me just seeing the difference. It's just like a shady mechanic who eyeballs your car and then recommends all sorts of expensive repairs that are completely unnecessary! I'll be posting this review elsewhere - consumers beware!!!

UPDATE: A couple weeks ago, a manager from 1st Choice called me after reading my review. She apologized for my experience with their company and let me know that incidentally the inspector that came to my house had been let go. She also said that the inspection I experienced was not their company standard. I then received a check in the mail for $79 refunding the cost of the inspection. Previously, I had rated them 1 star but have since upgraded it considering their concern for customer satisfaction.

First off what is up with California pipes, I never had any issues back East. But I do have to say it makes a huge difference having a good plumber on call. Tried First Choice and their tech Matt was great and I did it again, flooded my garage and he was over in just a few hours. Garbage disposal back up to the wash bin in the garage and I was doing a load of laundry, it was not pretty.
