This will be the only company I call from now on! Immediately answered call, set up appointment within a couple hours, quoted price, called when they were leaving previous job and then called again when getting closer to my home (so I didn't have to leave office so early to meet them). Josh and Jason put on booties before coming into the house, replaced the leaking pipe under kitchen sink, cleaned up. Very patient as I asked questions about the work. Outstanding customer service. Very, very pleased with quality of work.

Fri Mar 23, 2018 -
Hot Water heater stopped working. Diagnostic code blinking 5 times indicating thermal sensor is defective and needs to be replaced.

My brother contacted 1 Stop Mechanical per reviews/rating on HomeAdvisor's site.

John and Chris from 1 Stop arrive to troubleshoot the problem.
John removes the burner assembly and tells me he needs to go to the warehouse to see if the sensor is available. States it will take approx. 45mins round trip.

~50mins after John and Chris leave, I receive a call from my brother. John from 1 Stop called him and provided the following options:
1. John stating there are 2 damaged parts - only one is in stock. He can install the burner assembly with the 1 new part and by-pass the other broken part to get the water heater functioning. States it will be 2 - 2 1/2 hours of labor.
2. Replace the entire water heater.

My brother and I opt for neither of these options. We requested they order the needed parts and come back on Monday after receiving them to do the installation.

Mon Mar 26, 2018 -
Chris and Ignacio from 1 Stop arrive to install a ""new"" burner assembly. I thought it was only going to be new sensors, but 1 Stop indicated it was a new burner assembly. Chris installs the new burner assembly and leaves. I note a strong gas odor but assume this was from Chris installing the burner assembly. Not 10mins after Chris and Ignacio leave, the hot water heater stops working with the same diagnostic 5 blink code. I called 1 Stop and spoke to John. John stated he will contact Chris and have him return.

Chris and Ignacio return. Chris confirms the diagnostic code and that the hot water heater is not functioning. Chris calls John for advice. John has Chris confirm the top vent is venting - it is, and then suggests the gas value needs to be replaced.

Chris tells me the gas valve needs to be replaced, and they will charge us their cost for the part. Chris and Ignacio leave, return with the new part, and install it. Chris waits for over 20mins with the water heater running to verify it is fixed. Chris calls me into the utility room to show me the water heater is still running. It is, but there is still a strong odor of gas. Again, I assume from Chris installing the new gas valve.

When I returned home from work, the house spelled very strongly of gas. I opened all windows to air out the house.

Tues Mar 27, 2018 -
I close all windows and leave for work. Upon return the house smelled strongly of gas. Reopen all windows. Check online to determine hours of operation for 1 Stop Mechanical. They open at 7am.

Wed Mar 28, 2018 --
I attempted to call 1 Stop Mechanical at 7:19am. Automated system answered the call stating to leave a message and someone would contact me back. I was angry, and wanted to talk to a person, so I contacted a different service company. A live person answered the call. I explained what was happening. Tech arrived and inspected the water heater. Tech found 2 leaks, one from each part installed by 1 Stop tech. He showed me the leaks and discussed options.

Thurs Mar 29, 2018 -
Water heater replaced by new company. Tech pulled the damaged parts from the old water heater so I could return them to 1 Stop Mechanical for a refund.

Fri Mar 30, 2018 -
I called 1 Stop mechanical. John answered the call and I explained why I was calling. John indicated my situation would not happen, my request was unusual, and that he would need to see the diagnostic report from the service company that replaced the water heater. I provided the requested information.

Tues Apr 3, 2018 -
I sent an email to John at 1 Stop Mechanical asking when he was going to come out to pick up the parts.

Fri Apr 6, 2018 -
I have not received a response from John at 1 Stop Mechanical. I called 1 Stop and spoke to Kristen, leaving a message for John. John called, we had a contentious discussion about the situation. John agreed to contact me one day next week (Apr 9 - 13) to come out to inspect the parts, and if agree that the parts are damaged, then he would provide a refund.

Thurs Apr 26, 2018 -
Have not received a call from John.
Used https://1stopmechanical.com/contact/ URL to ask about a refund, explaining John from 1 stop was supposed to contact me and inspect the parts the week of April 9 - 13.

No response from 1 Stop nor phone call from John.
