Since hard water is a thing in McKinney, I opted to get a whole home water softener and filtration system. After purchasing my setup and getting a couple quotes, I decided to go with 1-800 Plumber since Josh thoroughly explained everything that they'd do, he explained the amount of experience they had installing the system, they were the 2nd cheapest option (only by a $100), and there was peace of mind that the owner lived in our community and if anything happened, they'd be a phone call away.

Overall, I'm really pleased with the installation. Josh did an excellent job keeping everything neat and functional. All that's left for me to do is paint the seems! I'm really glad he didn't leave my garage wall with a gaping hole in it, unlike the other quotes I received that said patch work would need to be done by a 3rd party. Even though the installation took a good portion of the day to do, I trusted that it was done properly and wouldn't have any issues down the road. But if I did, their 1 year warranty should cover it.

Although there were many pros, there were a few things I didn't like. Scheduling's a nightmare. It took almost a week for someone to come out to give me a quote. I'd get scheduled, get a call that they can't make it, get on the books for the next day, rinse and repeat. It was annoying and I was actually calling a different plumber to come out when 1-800 Plumber said they were on their way. They got my business by the skin of their teeth. Also, Josh is great and goes above and beyond, but his apprentice is lazy and clearly has the mentality of, "do the bare minimum to get by." He was supposed to flush my 2 softener tanks. He only flushed 1 and didn't communicate that to Josh, so when Josh rigged everything up, all the crud that should've been flushed down a sewer drain ended up flowing through my pipes. I wasn't happy about that. Also, I wish they told me that I was missing mounting brackets for the filters they installed, but instead of providing them or asking me about it, they didn't mention anything. Fortunately, I was able to order mounting brackets from the manufacturer and I might be able to mount it myself.

Overall, this is a good company but I wish they'd get their scheduling together and get their apprentices on a premium level of customer service.
